Each week in Destiny 2‘s Season of the Splicer, a new lineup of Seasonal Challenges comes out. This week is Week 5, which means you now have eight fresh new Challenges to try and knock out. What are they? What do they ask you to do? Read on, and we’ll cover them in detail.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer Week 5 Challenges

Changing Views

This is your typical Weekly Questline. You’ll talk to the Splicer Servitor, run your first Override activity of the week, and run this week’s Expunge mission (along with a few things I won’t spoil) to complete the Slicer V Quest. After that, you’ll need to kill Powerful Hive up to 100%. As to where you can find Powerful Hive, the Override activity is honestly as good as anything. Either that, or you can perhaps do some Nightmare Hunts.

Rewards:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Ignition Code (Legendary Grenade Launcher)
  • Decrypted Data +150

Expedited Expunge: Tartarus

This Seasonal Challenge asks you to complete the Expunge: Tartarus mission in 6 minutes or less. This is very doable if you have the right perks unlocked on your Splicer Gauntlet. I have a guide here for how to do it if you get stuck.

Rewards:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Decrypted Data +150

Crack and Decrypt II

For this one, you need to open 30 Conflux Chests at the end of Override and decrypt 30 Umbral Engrams at the Prismatic Recaster in the Helm. It appears with the Week 5 Challenges that your progress is going to count retroactively, so any Conflux Chests you’ve gotten previously or any Umbral Engrams you’ve already decrypted will count toward your total.

Rewards:

  • x2 Extra Large XP

Grenade Launcher Splicer

Here’s a pretty cut-and-dry Seasonal Challenge. All you have to do for this one is get kills using a Grenade Launcher in either Override or Expunge. Seeing as Grenade Launchers are ridiculously powerful this season, you shouldn’t run into any difficulty getting those kills.

Rewards:

  • x2 Extra Large XP

Apex Armorer

This is another fairly easy one. All you have to do here is Masterwork a single piece of armor. You’ll need to wear Season of the Splicer armor this season while getting kills to complete some Triumphs, so you could consider Masterworking one of those pieces.

Rewards:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Bright Dust

Serenity of the Void

Here’s a Challenge you may have completed already. For this one, you need to complete the Null Composure Quest (that’s the “seasonal ritual weapon” it’s talking about). If you have Null Composure, you’ll already have a check here. If not, you’ll have to get on that.

Rewards:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Bright Dust

Earn Valor Ranks

For this, you’ll need to earn a grand total of 16 Valor ranks in Crucible. If you play a fair amount, you should be able to achieve this in a couple of days. Iron Banner is up this week, so that could perhaps act as some motivation for you to enter the Crucible.

Rewards:

  • x8 Extra Large XP
  • Bright Dust

The Undying

This Seasonal Challenge asks you to complete any Nightfall Strike on Legend difficulty or higher without dying. This might be a bit tough: Legend difficulty is a non-matchmade tier, so you’ll need to find a crew to run with. You get quite the reward for this, so it might be worth suffering through.

Rewards:

  • x8 Extra Large XP
  • Bright Dust

And those are your Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer Week 5 Challenges! You should have a handle on everything here, maybe with the exception of not dying in a Legend Nightfall. Everything else — including that Expedited Expunge: Tartarus — is very doable.
