If you liked IP Man, you’d love the Monk in Diablo Immortal.
Players can start their journey using one of six different classes in Diablo Immortal. Blizzard offers an initial set of classes in the Barbarian, Crusader, Monk, Wizard, Necromancer, and Demon Hunter. Each class brings a different experience to cater to all types of players.
Regardless of the class you choose to play, each one can benefit a lot from specific Legendary Gems. Choosing the right gems to put in your character’s gem slot can help make your character even stronger in-game.
This time, we turn to the Monk and look at some Legendary Gems that can help accentuate the Monk’s Primary Attack and Skills.
Monk Class Overview
The Monk class is a unique melee-focused DPS class with a good mix of AoE, mobility, and utility skills in Diablo Immortal. The Monk’s Primary Attack, Fists of Thunder, deals rapid damage and allows the Monk to teleport from one target to another on the battlefield quickly.
The Monk carries crowd-control skills such as Cyclone Strike that pull enemies together and help the Monk unleash its Primary Attack and its host of powerful single target DPS skills such as Seven-Sided Strike and Flying Kick.
Aside from DPS and Crowd-Control abilities, the Monk class also carries valuable utility Skills such as Shield of Zen, which can give the Monk and its ally a powerful shield that protects them from damage and loss of control. Inner Sanctuary is another defensive utility skill that can reduce the damage the Monk and its allies take in battle.
The Monk can gather enemies with powerful crowd-control and eliminate them from the battlefield with AoE damage skills. Complement the Monk’s powerful skills with the right Legendary Gems, and you’ll be on your way to becoming a threat in PvE and PvP in Diablo Immortal.
Best Legendary Gems for the Monk Class
The Monk class’s powerful Primary Attack, Fists of Thunder, can benefit from additional DPS from some select Legendary Gems in Diablo Immortal.
Legendary Gems that provide additional attack speed can also help make Fists of Thunder more potent and allow the Monk to deal more DPS to targets in-game.
1-star Legendary Gems
- Berserker’s Eye
- Ca’arsen’s Invigoration
- Everlasting Torment
Berserker’s Eye is a no-brainer Legendary Gem pickup for the Monk class. Berserker’s Eye will increase the Monk’s Primary Attack and Skill damage by 5%, but it will also increase all damage the Monk takes by 6%.
While 6% might seem like a big tradeoff to get 5% more damage, remember that the Monk carries various shields and damage reduction abilities which can easily negate the additional damage from using this Legendary Gem.
Through Fists of Thunder, the Monk can unleash a quick succession of punches that deal 1050 to 1680 damage and allow the Monk to teleport from one target to another every third hit.
The Legendary Gem Ca’arsen’s Invigoration will increase Primary Attack speed by 6%, which can help the Monk’s Primary Attack DPS tremendously.
Fists of Thunder can inflict many hits on enemies quickly, allowing Critical Hits to proc more frequently. The Legendary Gem Everlasting Torment will inflict agony on enemies whenever the Monk deals Critical Damage. The agony will inflict 16.7% + 202 every second for three seconds.
2-star Legendary Gems
- Lightning Core
- Fervent Fang
- Power and Command
As a Primary Attack-depended class in Diablo Immortal, the Monk can put Lightning Core to good use. Lightning Core will slowly charge up the Monk’s Primary Attack and Movement Speed.
Lightning Core will infuse the Monk’s next Primary Attack at full charge with a chain lightning effect that deals 90% base damage + 1134 to nearby enemies.
The Monk class should be able to easily breeze through single targets as long as they aren’t Elite monsters or bosses. While high HP enemies such as the aforementioned will eventually fall to the Monk all the same, the Monk can still benefit from Fervent Fang, increasing attack damage by 0.8% up to 8% at ten stacks.
Power and Command is a unique Legendary Gem that provides two effects that cycle every 9 seconds. Power will give an 8% bonus Primary Damage, while Command increases skill damage by 8%. Power and Command will increase the Monk’s damage output, which is always nice.
While you generally want a steady damage buff to help improve Fists of Thunder, the Monk’s other skills, such as Flying Kick, can also benefit from this Legendary Gem.
5-star Legendary Gems
- Blessing of the Worthy
- Blood-Soaked Jade
5-star Legendary Gems are hard to fault in Diablo Immortal – these gems embody the word legendary in Legendary Gems and provide the most powerful buffs in the game.
With that said, Blessing of the Worthy will benefit a melee fighter such as the Monk tremendously. The Monk will always be taking damage in fights due to its melee nature which can help proc the Blessing of the Worthy’s effect that gives the holder a 20% chance to deal 12% max HP as damage every 20 seconds.
Last but not least is Blood-Soaked Jade – another 5-star Legendary Gem that works well with most classes in Diablo Immortal.
Blood-Soaked Jade’s effects for the Monk will give 8% bonus damage when at full HP. However, this bonus decreases as the Monk takes more damage in combat, eventually settling to a 4% bonus when the Monk is on low HP.
Movement Speed is increased by 10% as well, which should help the Monk’s exceptional mobility even more.
Hand To Hand Combat
The Monk can benefit greatly from Damage, Movement Speed, and Attack Speed buffs that complement the class’s Primary Attack and Skills.
With more Damage, Movement Speed, and Attack Speed, the Monk can clear Dungeons much faster, allowing for more efficient runs.
With that said, Legendary Gems that provide these buffs, such as the Berserker’s Eye, Everlasting Torment, Lightning Core, and Blood-Soaked Jade, are just some of the Legendary Gems you’ll want to pick up if you’re playing the Monk in Diablo Immortal.
