Though Mario Kart is considered the OG kart-racing title, that hasn’t stopped several other clones from coming out from games like Crash Team Racing to Team Sonic Racing. Now Disney wants to throw their hat into the ring with Disney Speedstorm.

The game is actually free-to-play when it comes out, but seeing as this is Disney, we should expect several fan-favorite characters to be behind some kind of paywall. Until we get more, fans will just have to speculate.
Knowing how expansive Disney’s reach is, we should expect quite the colourful roster for this game. I mean, just the characters they could get from Monsters, Inc. alone should give fans an idea of which other characters could come to Speedstorm. I am wondering though, will Disney also be bringing in characters from Marvel or Star Wars, or will they just stick to their own OG Disney properties?
The game looks like good fun, and I’m sure it has a lot of elements we can expect from a karting game. I’m not really expecting too much, but if Disney manages to surprise us with the content, I’m always willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

No specific release date has been announced for Disney Speedstorm, but the game is expected to come to PC and other major consoles sometime this year.
