It’s been more than a decade since the release of the last Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game, but Bandai Namco is ready to bring back an old gaming franchise that was pretty prevalent back in the ‘00s.
Check out the announcement for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4:
With the last game coming out back in 2007, it’s likely this new entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series will include elements from the newer Dragon Ball shows including Dragon Ball Super and Super Dragon Ball Heroes—that’s why the teaser gives us a look at Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue form.
While we can expect the usual characters to show up in Budokai Tenkaichi 4 like Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo, we should also see some newer villains from the 2010s series like the God of Destruction Beerus as well as Goku Black and Zamasu. Let’s also not forget that established characters like Frieza have also earned new, more powerful forms in the latter series.
With the trailer releasing now, it’s possible that we could get the game’s release later this year or sometime early 2024. Hopefully we get an update this June around E3, since Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox will be skipping out on the event this year.
No release date has been announced for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4, but hopefully we get a release sometime within the year, for more consoles than just the PlayStation and the Nintendo Switch.
