It’s been more than a decade since the launch of Skate 3, and a lot of fans have been wondering when we’re going to get the next update on Skate 4.
Thanks to an EA earnings call (via ComicBook), EA CEO Andrew Wilson has updated that a new look at the next entry in the Skate series could be arriving soon. Though we didn’t get any specific release/announce dates, he does say that the upcoming game will lean heavily on user-generated content (UGC). He says:
“It’s been at the very center of The Sims for a long time… It’s at the very center of mode like FIFA Ultimate Team and Madden Ultimate Team, to the very center of the design of Skate, which we’ll be launching soon.”
Before this, the last update we for the next Skate game had come out July of last year, and though we didn’t actually get a look at the game, we did get to see some reactions to some footage that the devs had been working on:
Since we had news of development since 2020, we should probably expect that a major update for Skate 4 could come before the year ends. It’s been more than a decade since the last game came out, and after the release of the Tony Hawk game remasters, EA has a reputation to uphold.
No release date has been announced for the next Skate game, but fans are hoping it will be playable for new gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
