Pokemon is gearing up for the next main game in the franchise with Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, and the launch is set for November. We have a new video that looks at the Paldea region and all the new elements coming to the game.

Enter the Paldea Region in World Overview for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The thing that caught me off the bat was Koraidon and Miraidon; though fans thought that they would be some endgame, Legendary Pokemon, it turns out they are just there to help the players traverse land, air, and sea. Then again, though they may be glorified motorcycles, that does not mean they will not have some significant story in the game.

Besides the bikes, the game is also introducing a new mode called Terastallization, which leads to the ‘shiny’ gimmick of the Pokemon. Terastallizing your Pokemon gives them some kind of enhanced diamond mode that will increase the effects of their abilities, plus give them some swanky headgear.

The trailer also introduces a whole new cast of characters. While there are some that will remain the same for both games, the professors will be different depending on the version, Sada for Scarlet and Turo for Violet. The academy you join also depends on the region, from Naranja for Scarlet and Uva for Violet.

Seeing this is the first RPG in Pokemon, many fans are excited about what Nintendo offers with this new version. While longtime fans are gearing up for the release, hopefully, it can be a good jumping-off point for newcomers to the franchise.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18.
