Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in Hisui, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
In the game, certain Pokemon have special requirements for them to evolve. One of these Pokemon is Nosepass, and in this guide, you will learn how to evolve Nosepass into a Probopass!
Nosepass into Probopass
Probopass is a Rock and Steel type Compass Pokemon with a blue and red body which is mostly a large face, two small and round eyes, a large red nose, a black and bushy mustache, and three smaller noses on its sides and back.
According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Probopass can emit powerful magnetism, which grants it control over iron sand which is what its bushy mustache is composed of. Additionally, Probopass’ iron sand, Probopass can form hard stones that Probopass uses to smite its prey.
Probopass can be found in the Primeval Grotto on the Coronet Highlands. Probopass can be found in this location at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
It is worth mentioning that the Probopass found in Primeval Grotto in the Coronet Highlands is a Level 73 Alpha Pokemon. Aside from that, Probopass may also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Coronet Highlands.
An alternative for catching a Probopass is through evolution. To do that, the player must evolve a Nosepass using a Thunder Stone or in the Coronet Highlands. First, the player should know where to find a Nosepass.
Nosepass
The player can also find a Nosepass in Primeval Grotto and Celestica Ruins in the Coronet Highlands. Nosepass can be found in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition. Aside from that, Nosepass can be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Coronet Highlands.
If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Nosepass’s preferred foods are Crunchy Salts.
Suppose you plan on battling a Nosepass first before catching it. In that case, it is worth noting that Nosepass is a Rock-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Fighting-type, Grass-type, Ground-type, Steel-type, and Water-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Fire-type, Flying type, Normal-type, Poison-type moves (not very effective).
Thunder Stone
Now that the player has caught a Nosepass, one of the methods to evolve a Nosepass to a Probopass is a Thunder Stone. There are several ways that the player can obtain a Thunder Stone:
The player may obtain a Thunder Stone by breaking sparkling gray Tumblestone Ores in the Cobalt Coastlands. Breaking shaking ores, however, will result in a Pokemon like Geodude or Graveler popping out and battle the player.
The player can purchase a Thunder Stone for 5,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop in between the Galaxy Hall and the player’s headquarters. However, Ginter will call it a Lightning-Bolt Rock. Unfortunately, the items that the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same all the time, so purchasable items may vary. To change the items that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.
The player can also purchase a Thunder Stone from the Trading Post near the Training Grounds for 1,000 Merit Points. The player can earn Merit Points by returning lost satchels all over the Hisui region.
Other than that, the player may find some Thunder Stones on the ground inside of Space-Time Distortions, so make sure to check out the items inside them.
Finally, Probopass!
After catching a Nosepass, the player can now evolve a Nosepass into a Probopass! As previously mentioned, two methods exist to evolve a Nosepass into a Probopass.
If the player has a Thunder Stone, this is what the player must do:
- Put the player’s Nosepass in the Player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps, selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt, or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
- Then, make sure that the Thunder Stone is in the player’s Satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Thunder Stone to the player’s Satchel.
- Next, return to the game and press the up-directional button to open the player’s Satchel.
- Select the Thunder Stone, select “Use” on the prompt, then select Nosepass from the player’s party to, well, use the Thunder Stone on Nosepass.
- Confirm the prompt to evolve Nosepass. Then, just like that, Nosepass will evolve into a Probopass!
If the player does not have a Thunder Stone, this is what the player must do:
- Then, if it is not already there, put the player’s Nosepass in the Player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps and selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
- Next, head to the Coronet Highlands by, if the player is in Jubilife Village, heading to the Front Gate, which is in the northeast of the village, or, if the player is in a different area, talking to Professor Laventon, head back to Jubilife Village, then heading to Coronet Highlands.
- Then, return to the game and press the up-directional button to open the player’s Satchel.
- Select the player’s Nosepass, which has a glowing Poke Ball beside its name, indicating that the Pokemon is ready to evolve. Select Evolve on the prompt, confirm on the next prompt to evolve Nosepass, then, just like that, Nosepass will evolve into a Probopass!
Now that the player has a Probopass, the player can try to use the Probopass to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ‘em all!
