Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in Hisui, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Pokemon species to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
In the game, there are certain Pokemon that players cannot catch or are difficult to catch in the wild. One method to acquire these Pokemon is through evolution. Ursaluna is one of these Pokemon, and in this guide, you will learn how to evolve Ursaring into a Ursaluna!
Ursaring into Ursaluna
Ursaluna is a Normal and Ground-type Peat Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Ursaluna is a quadrupedal dark brown bear with a yellow circle on its forehead, gray eyebrows, yellow snout, black nose, and gray pelt on its back, tail, and paws with five claws on each of its front paws and three claws on each of its back paws.
Ursaluna is also one of the game’s rideable Pokemon. Still, it could not be used outside of being a rideable Pokemon, so the player would need to catch another one for battling and everything else. According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Ursaluna’s burly physique and capacity to manipulate peat at will is caused by Hisui’s swampy terrain.
Ursaluna actually cannot be found anywhere in the wild. So, the only way to catch a Ursaluna is through evolution. To do that, the player must evolve a Ursaring using a Peat Block during a Full Moon. First, the player should know where to find a Ursaring
Ursaring
The player can find a Ursaring in the Crismon Mirelands (in Ursa’s Ring) or the Coronet Highlands (in Sonorous Path). Ursaring can be found in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition. It is worth mentioning that the Ursaring that can be found in Ursa’s Ring is a Level 41 Alpha Pokemon.
If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Ursaring’s preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans.
Suppose you plan on battling a Ursaring first before catching it. In that case, it is worth noting that, as mentioned, Ursaring is a Normal-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Fighting-type moves (super effective) and immunity to Ghost-type moves (not very effective).
Peat Block
Now that the player has caught a Ursaring, all that is needed to evolve a Ursaring into Ursaluna is a Peat Block. There are several ways that the player can obtain a Peat Block:
Peat Block can be dug up from treasure buried on the ground by riding the rideable Ursaluna. However, the locations where Ursaluna can dig up a Peat Block are random.
Additionally, the player may obtain a Peat Block by breaking Tumblestone Ores that are shaking. Breaking these shaking ores, however, will result in a Pokemon like Geodude or Graveler popping out and battling the player.
The player can purchase a Peat Block for 10,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop in between the Galaxy Hall and the player’s headquarters. However, Ginter will call it a Mystery Claw. Unfortunately, the items that the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same all the time, so the purchasable items may vary. To change the items that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.
Alternatively, the player will be rewarded with a Peat Block for completing the “Gone Astray… In the Icelands” Request (request 86). The player can start this request by talking to Zeke on the ground floor of the Galaxy Hall after completing the “Gone Astray… in the Fieldlands” Request (request 77) and after talking to Volo and Gaeric on the way to Noble Hisuian Avalugg on “The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra” Mission (mission 12).
Finally, Ursaluna!
After catching a Ursaring and obtaining a Peat Block, the player can now evolve a Ursaring into a Ursaluna!
To do that, this is what the player must do:
- Put the player’s Ursaring in the Player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps, selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt, or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
- Then, ensure that the Peat Block is in the player’s Satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Peat Block to the player’s Satchel.
- After that, ensure that the time of day is nighttime and there is a Full Moon. If not, the player can simply rest by interacting with the tent or the Galaxy Member in any of the Base Camps until nightfall and keep resting until there is a Full Moon (the only way to check if it is a Full Moon is by actually checking the moon up in the sky if it is the Full Moon).
- After that, return to the game and press the up-directional button to open the player’s Satchel.
- Select the Peat Block, select “Use” on the prompt, then select Ursaring from the player’s party to use the Peat Block on Ursaring.
- Confirm the prompt to evolve Ursaring. Then, just like that, Ursaring will evolve into a Ursaluna!
Now that the player has a Ursaluna, the player can try to use the Ursaluna to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ’em all!
