Probably one of the most beloved entries in the Fallout franchise is New Vegas, and a lot of people consider Obsidian’s take on IP more enriching Bethesda’s Fallout 3. With no future Fallout game in sight, word is going around that Obsidian might take a stab at a New Vegas sequel.

Fallout: New Vegas Sequel in Early Talks?

This comes from journalist Jeff Grubb who says on his show Grubbsnax (via Video Games Chronicle) that there have been talks to Obsidian about Fallout: New Vegas 2. Grubb specifically said, “This is very early, but people have begun to have talks and say these words in sentences, and those words are ‘Obsidian’ and ‘New Vegas 2’.”

With it being 10 years since the release of New Vegas, it’s very easy to get excited and expect some kind of announcement soon. Grubb cannot specify enough how early these talks are. He continues, “We’re talking years and years away. There’s at least an interest and conversations happening about making something like that actually a reality.”

For now, the last Fallout game to come out is Fallout 76 which was critically panned when it was released. With Amazon Prime Video working on a Fallout series though, Obsidian would be wise to take a chance and develop the game alongside the series. If you ask me, they can even set the stage around the same place as the show to really get that brand synergy going. If HBO can cooperate with PlayStation with the development of The Last of Us, surely Amazon can do the same with Obsidian.

Of course, nothing official has been confirmed, so until we get something, speculation’s the best we can do.

A sequel to Fallout: New Vegas has not been announced, but you can check out the game now available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
