Godfall has been the topic of conversation along with the PS5 launch. The game is beautifully crafted, and even for solo play, you will be required to have an internet connection.
This means that this game is always online. It will be probably among the biggest PvE titles on the new console. But being online, will it support any cross-platform play?
Godfall – Does it Have Cross-Play?
Godfall is a PS5 exclusive. This means that this game will be only available for the newest PlayStation console. Thankfully though, it is also available for PC, but not for Switch or Xbox.
This raises the question: Are there cross-play capabilities in Godfall?
For now, we don’t know. The developers have been silent on the topic. However, we can speculate that there will be in fact cross-platform play capabilities.
Why Should Godfall Have Cross-Play?
Well, for starters, Godfall is largely PvE, with no apparent PvP mechanics. This means that certain platform advantages won’t be present.
Furthermore, having cross-play will largely populate the game. In other words, the game will feel much more populated, and you might get to experience the journey much more, knowing that there are many players on it.
Also, we have seen a great shift in what’s important on this gaming systems these days. Much more emphasis is being put on cross-platform play and save capabilities.
The main motive is to bring together platforms, to ultimately increase the quality of play. Being the focus of today’s console makers, it means that next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X are likely to offer much more freedom when it comes to this.
Summing up, we don’t know whether Godfall will have cross-play capabilities, but if we look at it from a technical standpoint, it makes a lot of sense.
And if we can see it, chances are the developers and Sony see it too. Let’s hope that PC and PS5 players are united again for Godfall!
