Team Cherry’s Metroidvania action-adventure game, Hollow Knight, follows the journey of a nameless warrior called the Knight as he travels through Hallownest, now a kingdom ruined by a supernatural disease. As the Knight journeys through Hallownest, he encounters various characters that will help fully unravel the story in the game.

To fully explore and navigate through Hallownest, the Knight must have the maps for the different areas in the game. The Knight must purchase maps from the humming cartographer Cornifer to obtain them. Cornifer is working on mapping the entirety of Hallownest so he can be found in every area and sell the area’s map to the Knight.

The player will learn how to find Cornifer in Greenpath in this guide!

Greenpath

Cornifer’s location in Greenpath is on the rightmost side of a room on the eastern side of Greenpath.

The Knight will encounter lots of various enemies in Greenpath. Still, the Knight will specifically encounter the following enemies on the way to Cornifer: a Tiktik, Crawlids, Gruzzers, an Elder Baldur, Volatile Mosskins, a Mosskin, Maskflies, a Mosscreep, and Squits.

As Greenpath is one of the first areas in the game, there are no required abilities that the Knight must have to find Cornifer in the area.

To find Cornifer in Greenpath, this is what the Knight must do:

Starting from the Bench up in Dirtmouth, head to the right past the Stagway Station entrance and Iselda’s Shop, then drop down the entrance of the Forgotten Crossroads.
Next, head to the left upon landing, jump across the gap, continue heading to the left, drop down the platforms where the Knight will encounter a Tiktik and a Crawlid, and then take the exit on the left.
Then, head to the left, jump across the gap towards the platform below on the left where the Knight will encounter a few Gruzzers and a Crawlid, drop down the gap on the left towards a small platform, drop down the gap on the left and head towards the wall on the left where the Knight will land on a ledge, drop down the gap on the right where the Knight will land on another ledge, then take the exit on the left with a lot of greenery.
Afterward, head to the left, where an Elder Baldur will block the path. The Knight must first defeat Elder Baldur to continue. It is important to mention that the Knight will not be able to attack the Elder Baldurs using the Nail as they will curl up and protect themselves when they try to get close to them. The Knight must use the Vengeful Spirit spell to defeat the Elder Baldurs. Once the Knight runs out of Soul, just wait for the Elder Baldurs to throw out regular Baldurs for the Knight to attack and gain Soul from. After that, cast the Vengeful Spirit spell again.
After defeating the Elder Baldur, head to the left, drop down the small platform below on the right (be careful not to fall to the pool of acid below), jump towards the slightly longer platform above on the left, jump up towards the smaller platform above on the left, drop down the platform on the ground, jump towards the small platform on the left, jump towards the smaller platform above on the left, jump towards the slightly longer platform below on the left, jump across the gap to the pool of acid towards the platform on the left, jump across another gap with the pool of acid, continue to the left, at the end of the path jump up the path above on the right, head up the platforms on the right, at the top head to the left, then take the exit.
Next, the Knight has now arrived in Greenpath. Head to the left, jump across the gap with the pool of acid below towards the elevated platform above on the left, jump towards the small platform above on the left, jump towards the large platform on the left where the Knight will encounter a Mosskin, head to the left, jump across the gap, continue to the left where the Knight will encounter a few Maskflies who will run away once the Knight is near, jump towards the small platform below on the left, jump up the platform above on the left, continue heading to the left, jump towards the long platform on the left where the Knight will encounter another Volatile Mosskin, and jump towards the elevated platform on the left.
Then, drop down the platforms on the left, jump towards the small platform on the left, jump towards another small platform on the left, jump up the small platform above on the left, jump towards the large platform on the left where the Knight will encounter a Mosscreep, head to the left, at the end of the path drop down the gap on the left, then take the exit on the left.
After that, head to the left, where there will again be a few Maskflies, then take the exit on the left. It is worth mentioning that there is a Bench on the top of this room where the Knight can heal up and save your progress.
Next, head to the left, drop down the platform, head to the left, drop down the small platform below on the left, drop down the small platform below on the left, drop down the small platform below on the right (it is worth noting that there is a Geo Deposit on the path on the left with the pool of acid and a Squit), drop down the small platform below on the left, drop down on another small platform below on the right, drop down the long ledge below on the left, jump towards the small platform on the right, jump towards the large platform on the right, head to the right, drop down the gap on the right, land on a small platform (it is worth noting that there is another Geo Deposit on the path on the left), drop down the small platform below on the right, drop down the platform below, then take the exit on the right.
Then, head to the right, drop down the platform, head to the right where the Knight will encounter a Squit, jump towards the platform on the right held up by vines, jump towards the small platform on the left, jump towards the platform above on the left that is also being held up by vines, strike the vines to break it and let the platform that the Knight is standing on fall, jump towards the elevated platform above on the right, head to the right, and jump up the platform on the right.
After that, drop down the small platform below on the right, jump towards the platform on the right that is being held up by vines, jump towards the platform on the right where there will be two Volatile Mosskins underneath, jump up the platform above on the right, jump up the platform on the right, head to the right where the Knight will encounter another Squit, drop down the platform on the right where the Knight will encounter another Volatile Mosskin, drop down the platform on the right, continue heading to the right where the Knight will encounter another Squit, jump towards the small platform on the right (be careful not to fall on the spikes down below), jump up the small platform above on the right, and drop down the platform below on the right where there will be a piece of paper on the floor which means that Cornifer is nearby.
Finally, head to the right, drop down the platforms, and continue heading to the right towards a narrow path. There, the Knight will find Cornifer!

Now that the Knight has found Cornifer, the Knight can purchase the map of Greenpath for only 60 Geo. After that, the Knight can now navigate the Greenpath area better!
