How to Obtain the Fury of the Fallen Charm in Hollow Knight

Team Cherry’s Metroidvania action-adventure game, Hollow Knight, follows the journey of a nameless warrior called the Knight as he travels through Hallownest, now a kingdom ruined by a supernatural disease. As the Knight journeys through Hallownest, he can unlock new abilities, spells, and charms that will help him traverse through different areas of Hallownest and defeat enemies.

In the game, special items, called Charms, give the Knight different abilities and bonuses. To equip or unequip these Charms, the Knight must sit on a Bench, and the Knight must have enough unused Notches to equip them. This guide will learn about the Fury of the Fallen charm.

One of the 45 Charms in the game is the Fury of the Fallen Charm, which requires and takes up two Charm Notches. When equipped, the Fury of the Fallen charm increases the damage output of the Knight’s Nail by 75% when the Knight is nearing death at one Mask.

With the Fury of the Fallen charm, the Knight can now deal major damage if the Knight only has a single Mask left! This charm is useful for situations where there is a possibility that the Knight will take a lot of damage.

The Fury of the Fallen charm can be found inside a Geo Chest in the southern part of King’s Pass, west of Dirtmouth.

Before the Knight can obtain the Fury of the Fallen charm, it is recommended that the Knight must first have the Mantis Claw ability, which allows the Knight to cling to walls and jump off of them, and the Mothwing Cloak ability, which allows the Knight to perform a horizontal dash forward, or the Monarch Wings ability, which allows the Knight to perform a secondary jump in mid-air.

The Knight must also purchase the Lumafly Lantern from Sly in Dirtmouth to light up dark rooms. Obtaining the Fury of the Fallen charm will be no challenge with this item and these abilities.

On the way to the Fury of the Fallen charm, the Knight will not encounter any enemies.

To go to Howling Cliffs from Dirtmouth, this is what the Knight must do:

  1. From the Bench in the middle of Dirtmouth, head to the left, then, upon reaching the wall, jump and climb up the wall using the Mantis Claw ability. At the top of the wall, use the Mothwing Cloak ability to dash towards the platform or the Monarch Wings ability to perform a secondary jump towards the next platform, then take the entrance on the left.
  2. Upon entering the room, the Knight is back in the King’s Pass area, the first area in the game. Head to the left, drop down on the next gap, head to the right, drop down to the gap, continue dropping down to the platforms below the left, and head to the bottom on the right side of the spikes.
  3. Next, continue to the right of what looks like a wall, and the Knight will be in a hidden part of the area. Continue to the right and jump over the spikes with the help of the Monarch Wing’s ability to double jump or the Mothwing Cloak’s ability to dash forward in mid-air.
  4. Then, drop down on the gap where the Knight will start using the Lumafly Lantern to light up the area and head to the left, where you will find a Geo Chest.
  5. Finally, strike the Geo Chest, and something glowing will pop out. Inspect the glowing thing; the Knight has now obtained the Fury of the Fallen charm!

Other Charms go well with the Fury of the Fallen charm, specifically the Fragile Strength charm, which increases the damage output of the Knight’s Nail by 50%. However, because of this charm’s nature, the Fragile Strength charm is at risk of being broken, which will happen if the Knight dies. The Unbreakable Strength charm also increases the damage output of the Knight’s Nail by 50% and is the unbreakable version of the Fragile Strength charm.

So, if paired with the Fury of the Fallen charm, the damage output of the Knight’s Nail when the Knight has only one Mask remaining is increased by up to 170.6%, the Glowing Womb charm, which uses Soul to spawn Hatchlings that deals damage upon contact on enemies so, pairing it with the Fury of the Fallen charm, the Hatchling’s contact damage will be increased by 5 when the Knight has only one Mask remaining.

The Grubberfly’s Elegy charm, which fires projectiles that deal 50% of the Nail’s damage per hit when the Knight attacks using the Nail at full Masks and, pairing it with the Fury of the Fallen charm, allows the Knight to fire red projectiles that deal up to 67.5% of the Nail’s damage when the Knight attacks using the Nail with only one Mask remaining.

Now that the Knight has the Thorns of Agony charm, the Knight can equip it while sitting down on a Bench, and the Knight can directly deal extra damage when the Knight is clinging on for dear life with one Mask left!
