How To Change Your Name On PC in Black Ops Cold War

With a lot of anticipation that players might have had before Cold War launched, some players might have chosen a name without giving it a second thought.

We’ve all done it in the past. You are eager to hop on the game, and you approve everything at the beginning at the game, and enter random details on your account.

Thankfully though, you can change your name in Cold War, if you have mistakenly chosen a weird one.

How to Change Your Name on PC – COD Black Ops Cold War

There are two ways to do this. One is going directly through the Activision website, and the other is by changing it in-game. We will outline how to do both:

1. Launch Black Ops Cold War.
2. Open up your Options.
3. Go to Account and Network.
4. Find “Change Activision Display Name” and click on it.
5. Type in your new name and click “Confirm”.

IMPORTANT: Notice how the game will prompt you how many tokens to change you name you have left. Depending on how many times you’ve done this, that’s how many tokens you will have left.

The default is two, and if you use one or two of them, you will need to wait six months in order to get another again. So, choose your name wisely.

You might experience a lot of login errors when launching the game, this is normal as Cold War has its own faults. You can either fix the login errors or change your name through the site.

If you change it through Activision official website, then make sure that you have chosen the right name, since many players report that you can only change your name so much from the website.

How to change it through Activision.com:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Go to Basic Info.
3. Next to your Activision ID you will find “Edit” click it.
4. Enter your desired name and click Save.

I recommend that you change your name through the game, as you get tokens every six months, so if you want to change it again, you have the freedom to do so.

As for the website, not many know just how many times you can change the display name before getting that option taken away from you.
