Writer and Storywriter

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the old times in the Pokemon world at a time when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the land of the Hisui region, known as the Sinnoh region in modern times, you’ll join the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

How to Complete the “On the Trail of Giratina” Request (Request 91) in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Various people will also ask for help from the player in the form of requests. One of these requests is Request 91, titled ‘On the Trail of Giratina.’ This guide will teach you how to complete the ‘On the Trail of Giratina’ request.

On the Trail of Giratina

To unlock this request, the player must first complete the ‘Seeking the Remaining Plates’ Mission, the 26th mission in the game, where the player must defeat Volo and Giratina and obtain the Azure Flute.

After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! To do that, head on back to Jubilife Village after completing the ‘Seeking the Remaining Plates’ Mission and, upon arriving, Professor Laventon and Ress of the Security Corps will meet the player and say that there have been reports that a huge shadow appeared in the Cobalt Coastlands then just disappeared without a trace. Professor Laventon will then ask the player what happened then; after the player explains what happened in the previous mission, Professor Laventon will say that the shadow that was in the Cobalt Coastlands may be none other than Giratina, which is the Pokemon that was banished to the reverse side of their world, and say that this calls for a survey. Ress will then say that the Cobalt Coastlands is vast, and he hopes the player has an idea of where to look. Then, the ‘On the Trail of Giratina’ Request started just like that!

To complete this request, the player must battle and catch Giratina in the Cobalt Coastlands!

Giratina can be found in the Turnback Cave near the Spring Path in the northwestern part of the Cobalt Coastlands. Upon entering the cave, a cutscene will play where the player will find Giratina in its Origin Form. Approach Giratina, and the battle will commence!

As the player would have to battle Giratina to weaken and catch it, it is essential to note that Giratina is a Level 70 Ghost and Dragon Type Pokemon, which means it has a weakness to Dark type, Dragon type, Fairy type, Ghost type, and Ice type moves (super effective), a resistance to Bug-type, Electric-type, Fire-type, Grass-type, Poison-type, and Water-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Normal-type and Fighting-type moves (no effect).

After catching Giratina, the player will obtain a Griseous Core, which can be used on Giratina to change its form.

After all that, go out of the Turnback Cave and head to Professor Laventon in any of the Base Camps in the Cobalt Coastlands. Talk to Professor Laventon, and he will tell the player that Volo returned and told him more about what transpired from the previous mission. He will mention that Volo said that Giratina chose to protect the Hisui region after discovering that it was no match for the player and that the Galaxy Team should study it and add it to the player’s Pokedex. After that, Volo told him that it was probably the last time that they were going to meet. Professor Laventon will then say that he can’t help but feel that Volo is more invested in the GalaxyTeam’ss completion of the Pokedex than he would have them know.

Finally, the player will be rewarded with one Grit Rock for your efforts, and the ‘‘On the Trail ofGiratina’’ request is now completed!

Now that you have completed the ‘‘On the Trail of Giratina’’ Request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or completeArceus’’ task for you, which is to catch ’em all!
