Pokemon Legends: Arceus occurred in the olden days of the Pokemon world when harmony between people and Pokemon was rare. Set in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Pokemon species to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

How to Complete the “Serving Up Swap Snacks” Request (Request 54) in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will also ask for help from the player requests. One of these requests is Request 54, titled ‘Serving Up Swap Snacks.’ In this guide, you’ll learn how to complete the ‘Serving Up Swap Snacks’ request.

Serving Up Swap Snacks

To unlock this request, the player must first unlock Basculegion as a rideable Pokemon which is part of ‘The Lordless Island’ Mission (the tenth mission in the game). The player must quell a frenzied Hisuian Arcanine. Additionally, the player must also talk to Bonn of the Candy Shop, found on the left side outside of the Galaxy Hall next to Beauregard and his Cascoon (in front of Beni and the Wallflower, which is the village canteen in Jubilife Village), at least once. The player can talk to Bonn and not buy anything from him to unlock the ‘Serving Up Swap Snacks’ request.

After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! To do that, head to Bonn, still on the Candy Shop (the shop with a blue umbrella) found on the left side outside of the Galaxy Hall next to Beauregard and his Cascoon, talk to him, and he will ask the player to listen to him for a moment before the player buys anything from him. Bonn will then tell the player that he came up with a new treat using Candy Truffles, but he says it has caused him nothing but sorrow as everyone who has tried it thinks it is terrible and beyond saving.

He will then say that he has had to shelve his new treat, and it seems like he will never be able to pull a profit from it. However, Bonn wants to share the recipe with someone at least so that it will not be completely forgotten. So, Bonn has decided to share his recipe with the player. Bonn will ask the player to bring a Sootfoot Root, a Springy Mushroom, and a Hopo Berry to craft the treat. After that, the ‘Serving Up Swap Snacks’ request starts.

To complete this request, the player must bring Bonn the necessary materials: one Sootfoot Root, one Springy Mushroom, and one Hopo Berry. Now it is time to find the items!

Sootfoot Roots can be found and obtained by destroying haystacks in Crimson Mirelands. To do this, you would need the help of your Pokemon. Aim and throw one of your Pokemon into a haystack. Your Pokemon will then strike the haystack to harvest the Sootfoot Root. The selected Pokemon will also gain experience in helping out.

Aside from being in haystacks, Sootfoot Root can also be planted on the ground around the Crimson Mirelands, the Coronet Highlands, and the Alabaster Icelands. It is worth mentioning that the player can find Sootfoot Root just north of the Base Camp, in Heart’s Crag, and north of Avalugg’s Legacy in the Alabaster Icelands.

Sootfoot Root can also be obtained after catching or defeating Pokemon, specifically Abomasnow, Hisuian Braviary, Hippopotas, Rufflet, and Snover.

Alternatively, it is possible to purchase Sootfoot Root for 300 Pokemon Dollars in the Craftworks (after it is added to his wares) by talking to Anvin.

Springy Mushrooms can be found planted on the ground under trees or in leaf piles. To get Springy Mushroom from leaf piles, you would also need the help of your Pokemon. Aim and throw one of your Pokemon to the leaf pile, then your Pokemon will come out and strike the leaf pile to harvest the Springy Mushroom. The selected Pokemon will also gain experience in helping out.

Springy Mushrooms can also be obtained after catching or defeating Pokemon, specifically Goomy and Paras.

Alternatively, it is possible to purchase Springy Mushroom for 200 Pokemon Dollars in the Craftworks (after it is added to his wares) by talking to Anvin.

To obtain some Hopo Berries, the player can get them from trees with blue-ish green leaves and yellow berries in these zones: Crimson Mirelands, Coronet Highlands, and Alabaster Icelands. However, it is more common in the Crimson Mirelands. To get Hopo Berries from the blue trees with yellow berries, the player would also need the help of your Pokemon

Hopo Berries can also be obtained after catching or defeating Pokemon, specifically Abra and Kadabra.

Alternatively, the player can purchase Hopo Berries from the Gingko Guild Merchants for 300 Pokemon Dollars. However, it is worth mentioning that the items that the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same all the time, so that purchasable items may vary.

After obtaining at least one Sootfoot Root, one Springy Mushroom, and one Hopo Berry, head back to Bonn, still on the Candy Shop found outside the Galaxy Hall next to Beauregard and his Cascoon. Talk to him, and, after agreeing to give him the items you just allocated, Bonn will start to create his treat called Swap Snack and provide it to the player. Bonn will mention that if Swap Snack is given to a Pokemon, the Pokemon’s offensive and defensive stats will be temporarily swapped. It is an effect that he did not expect, and, as the Survey Corps end up dealing with all sorts of Pokemon, they would find good use to his Swap Snacks. Finally, the player can get to keep the Swap Snack that Bonn gave.

Now that you have completed the ‘Serving Up Swap Snacks’ Request, you can try to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ‘em all!
