A common reason for this is because players in the United States, Canada, UK, Australia and other parts of the world are all playing Pokemon Go iOS and Pokemon Go Android at the same time, which can cause some problems.

If you don’t know if Pokemon Go not responding because of bad Internet connection or the game is frozen, look for the spinning white Pokéball in the upper left corner. If you see this white spinning Pokeball on your screen then you know that Niantic’s servers are being refreshed. If your screen is frozen but that Pokéball icon is spinning, then that can also mean that Pokemon Go is trying to connect back to the central server.

But if your screen moving, and the buttons don’t do anything this could mean that you’ve lost connection to the server and need to reboot Pokemon Go to get it working again.

Leave the app and come back
