One of the most exciting things you can do on Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, is genetic mutations. Genetic mutations are special neurons. These “neurons” have a golden white-yellow color, which separates them from the white ones. Unlocking these types of neurons is different from the other ones. You can only acquire them at birth, which means you can’t learn them.
Ways To Get Genetic Mutations In Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey
Each time a baby is born, there is a 50% chance that it has a genetic mutation. So the odds are high, and you most probably will get one. If your baby has one, the genetic mutation will appear, and it will be similar to the normal white ones that haven’t been matured yet. These neurons’ color will be a dull gold color, and it will also have a vague description.
Once the baby grows into an adult, there will be an indication in the form of a pop-up similar to the revealed white neurons that are not matured yet. The small neuron circle is going to glow on bright gold color. After that, you will see more details about it, as you see for the other neurons.
If evolution occurs, this genetic neuron will have a similar size to a large white neuron, and you will be able to read its full description. After this, the genetic mutation will be with your humanoid forever.
One small note is that you can’t pass this mutation to your character’s children since it’s not a hereditary mutation. You can only conserve these kinds of mutations by evolving.
Meteorites
You can also get these kinds of mutations while inspecting meteorites. All the non-mutated babies that are around these meteors will acquire a new mutation. As a bonus, you will get an additional reinforcement for each baby that is in your clan.
