Let’s say you’re after a Bow in Destiny 2, but you don’t want the plain-Jane type. You want something unique — Exotic, even. You want one that does something no other Bow does. How about one that infects your target with poison when they’re hit? One that keeps on damaging the enemy you strike long after you’ve turned your attention elsewhere? Le Monarque fits the bill. Here’s how to get Le Monarque in Destiny 2.

How to get Le Monarque in Destiny 2

Once upon a time, Le Monarque was a drop from a Forge

If you weren’t around for the Black Armory Forges in Destiny 2, you missed a pretty entertaining matchmade activity. The various Forges around the system enabled you to chase Black Armory gear via rewards received after completing a Forge. The Le Monarque Exotic Bow became available as one of those Forge drops after you completed a — truth be told — lengthy Questline.

As you’ve probably gathered by now, the Black Armory Forges are no longer in the game. They were swallowed up by the Destiny Content Vault, and it’s unknown when they might return. Fortunately, there is another path through which you can obtain Le Monarque. It’s much, much easier to get now, too.

You can buy Le Monarque

Monument to Lost Lights

In order to secure a Le Monarque of your very own, you’ll need to head to the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower, and you’ll need to ensure you have the following currencies and materials:

Once you have all that, open the Monument to Lost Lights and head into the section called “Forsaken Exotics.” On that screen, you’ll spot Le Monarque sitting in the third spot. You can then purchase using the materials and currencies listed above.

And that is how to get Le Monarque in Destiny 2

Le Monarque is a lot of fun to use, especially if you’re a fan of PvP, and especially if you partake in a little Momentum Control now and again. The poison perk — appropriately called “Poison Arrows” — enables you to infect an enemy and slowly tick down their health, even if they run and take cover. And even better: if you land a precision shot, those near that one enemy could also become poisoned.

Take your Le Monarque out into the world and see where it might fit into your toolkit. And remember: Oathkeepers, the Hunter Arms Exotic, lets you hold a drawn Bow back indefinitely. Abuse it, Guardian.
