There has been a lot of confusion in the gaming industry on whether or not Cyberpunk 2077 will be only available on the Xbox and PC.
The main reason for this was that Microsoft revealed a lot of content for Cyberpunk 2077 way before anyone.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Is it Xbox Exclusive?
The short answer is no. Cyberpunk 2077 is not an Xbox exclusive, and it is available on PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, PC, and Google Stadia.
There is way too much interest in the game for the developers to decide that this should only be on the Xbox. Many costs go into making and perfecting a game, so it is highly unlikely they would want to miss out on possible profit from other platforms.
Then Why Should Games Be Exclusive to One Platform?
There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, games might be developed especially for one platform, and optimizing them for others might take a lot of work and valuable funds.
We should also point out that developers are constantly fighting with deadlines, so implementing other platforms into the mix might mean an unfinished game.
Another factor that comes into play is who foots the bill. For example, companies like Sony and Microsoft might pay out some portion of the game’s profits for the game to remain only available on their platform.
Honestly, this is usually only apparent in games that are not as popular as Cyberpunk 2077, but there are some cases where big-name games have remained only on one platform for quite some time.
Nonetheless, as I said, for games as massively popular as Cyberpunk 2077, it doesn’t make sense to make the game only available to a portion of the public.
As for video games that are much less popular and overly hyped, it might seem reasonable to get a company incentive to only make the game available on that particular console.
Thankfully, though, Cyberpunk 2077 will be available for most consoles and platforms, so most of the world will enjoy this title.
