It feels like we just got Kirby and the Forgotten Land for the Nintendo Switch, but the game developer is ready to release the next title featuring gaming’s favorite glutton besides Pacman.
Here’s the announcement trailer for Kirby’s Dream Buffet:
The official description reads:
Roll through a smorgasbord of food-themed stages in 4 rounds of 4-player* fun as Kirby…who seems rounder than usual? Race through delicious obstacle courses to collect strawberries as Kirby grows. Then, turn the tides in the final round—a fruity fight atop a floating platform.
The game mechanics feel simple enough. Roll through the food-themed obstacle courses, and make sure you’re the one who collects the most strawberries among the other players.
While the game doesn’t look to be as huge as Forgotten Land, this does look like a fun romp for anyone who’s a fan of Kirby. Though the trailer does make Dream Buffet look like a racing game, I think this could be some kind of party title not unlike the Mario Party titles that have released on Nintendo consoles before.
Dream Buffet looks like a pretty light title, and I don’t expect this to be as extensive as the other major Nintendo releases. If anything, they would have announced this game a lot sooner than its summer 2022 release date. I’m sure it should keep some young kids entertained enough without breaking too much bank.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet releases this summer on the Nintendo eShop.
