Nickelodeon continues to peddle its version of Super Smash Bros with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and three new characters have been announced, with My Life as a Teenage Robot’s XJ-9 leading the pack.
Watch this:
My Life as a Teenage Robot’s Jenny “XJ-9” Wakeman joins the roster of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl as premium DLC today, but she’s not alone! Hugh Neutron and Rocko are also joining the fight later this year. Hugh Neutron will be available this Summer and Rocko in the Fall. Each will also get unique stages and costumes.
While the character of Jenny seems like a no-brainer when it comes to a game like Nick All-Star Brawl, I am curious as to how they will be bringing in someone as mild-mannered as Rocko from Rocko’s Modern Life. With Shaggy being a playable character in Multiverses, I am sure Nick will also want to lean in on the meme-flying of Hugh Neutron on the internet when it comes to his character in All-Star Brawl.
So far, All-Star Brawl has been considered a passable attempt at Nick’s original Super Smash Bros. While the gameplay is fun, there is not much said about the treatment of each character, with a lack of variety in voice lines as well as voice acting. Hopefully, developers Ludosity and Fair Play Labs are looking to fix this problem, and with more characters incoming, maybe the game has a long life ahead of it.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is now available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
