One of the Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Tawa Jinn Shrine, or Tawa Jinn’s Blessing. The Shrine itself is no challenge at all. As you enter the Tawa Jinn Shrine, Link can access the shrine’s chest, access the altar and talk to the monk immediately. The real challenge is completing The Three Giant Brothers Shrine Quest to access the Tawa Jinn Shrine. In this guide, you will learn how to complete The Three Giant Brothers Shrine Quest to access and complete the Tawa Jinn Shrine, obtain the chest inside, and claim the Spirit Orb!

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: Tawa Jinn Shrine Guide

Link will be rewarded with Spirit Orbs for completing Shrines. The Spirit Orbs obtained can be exchanged for more Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels. As there are 120 Shrines all over Hyrule, Link will get 120 Spirit Orbs. You get to decide whether you want Link to have more Hearts or more Stamina.

Link cannot access the Tawa Jinn Shrine immediately. Still, the shrine will emerge from the ground southeast of Mount Taran in East Necluda (northwest of Lurelin Village or south of the Hateno Tower, or east of the Rabella Wetlands). The Tawa Jinn Shrine is one of eight shrines in the Faron Tower region.

The Three Giant Brothers

Before trying this shrine quest, make sure that Link has enough weapons, shields, bows, arrows, and food for health (cooked or not) to use as Link would have to defeat monsters.

Link must first complete The Three Giants Brothers Shrine Quest to access the Tawa Jinn Shrine. To start this shrine quest, head to the location where the shrine will appear (the location mentioned above), and there you will find three glowing orb sockets and a pedestal with an inscription. Link must start The Three Giant Brothers Shrine Quest is to read the inscription, which says:

“The ancient orbs guarded by the giants of Mount Taran lead to the shrine.”

According to the inscription, all Link has to do to get to the shrine is to get the three glowing orbs from the three Hinoxes (or whatever the plural form of Hinox is), which is what the inscription refers to as giants, and bring it to the glowing orb sockets near the pedestal. Now it is time to find the three Hinox Brothers!

One of the Hinox Brothers can be found in Hanu Pond, just a little northeast of where the pedestal and the glowing orbs can be found. This red Hinox is the Youngest Kin, and you can see the glowing orb hanging on its neck like a necklace. Link must now defeat this Hinox to obtain the glowing orb. Use Link’s best weapons on hand and shoot it in the eye to stun it and deal damage.

Link can also take advantage of the tall bone structures around the area (applicable to the other Hinox Brothers, too) by climbing on top of it and fighting the Hinox from long range using Link’s bow and arrows. After defeating it, the Hinox will drop various items, including the glowing orb. Carry the glowing orb back up to the pedestal and the orb sockets, then put it on one of them. This glowing orb socket will then turn blue and be activated.

Another Hinox Brothers can be found in Uten Marsh, just a little bit south of where the pedestal and the glowing orbs can be found. This blue/green Hinox is the Middle Kin, and you can see the glowing orb is also hanging on its neck like a necklace. Link must now defeat this Hinox to obtain the glowing orb. After defeating it, the Hinox will drop various items, including the glowing orb. Carry the glowing orb back up to the pedestal, and glowing orb sockets, then put it on one of the glowing orb sockets to activate it.

The last one of the Hinox Brothers can be found in the Rabella Wetlands, which is just a little bit west of where the pedestal and the glowing orbs can be found. This dark Hinox is the Oldest Kin, and you can see the glowing orb is also hanging on its neck like a necklace. It is worth mentioning that there are several Bokoblins in the area, so defeat them first so they will not be annoying later on.

Link must now defeat this Hinox to obtain the final glowing orb. Again, use Link’s best weapons on hand and shoot an arrow in its eye to stun it and deal significant damage. After defeating it, the Hinox will drop a couple of items, including the glowing orb. Carry the glowing orb back to the pedestal and glowing orb sockets, then put it on one of them to activate it.

After defeating the titular three giant brothers and putting the glowing orbs in their glowing orb sockets, the Tawa Jinn Shrine will emerge from the ground just in the middle of the pedestal and the glowing orb sockets. Then, just like that, The Three Giant Brothers Shrine Quest is completed, and Link can now access the Tawa Jinn Shrine!

Now that you have completed The Three Giant Brothers Shrine Quest, you can enter the Tawa Jinn Shrine. This shrine will no longer have a challenge or puzzle inside as the puzzle was already on trying to access the shrine. Upon entering the shrine, this is what Link must do:

  1. Upon entering the Qukah Nata Shrine, head up the stairs, and there will be a chest. Open the chest to obtain a Great Thunderblade.
  2. Then, just after the chest, continue to talk to the monk and claim your Spirit Orb!

The Tawa Jinn Shrine, or Tawa Jinn’s Blessing, is one of eight shrines in the Faron Tower region. The other shrines are the Muwo Jeem Shrine or A Modest Test of Strength, the Shai Utoh Shrine or the Halt the Tilt, the Shoda Sah Shrine or the Impeccable Timing, the Qukah Nata Shrine or Qukah Nata’s Blessing, the Yah Rin Shrine or A Weighty Decision, the Kah Yah Shrine or the Quick Thinking, and the Korgu Chideh Shrine or Korgu Chideh’s Blessing.
