A month ago, it was rumored that Biomutant was going to get a PS5 version that was native 4K, and it looks like we now have an official announcement.
Here’s the official reveal of Biomutant for the PS5:
The official description reads:
Life… finds a way to current gen. Biomutant is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2022.
Experience the vibrant world of Biomutant in native 4K, up to 60 FPS and even faster loading times on PlayStation 5.
Choose between Quality, Quality Unleashed and Performance on all consoles and mutate your game on PlayStation 5 with DualSense and Activity Card support.
What’s great is, if you already own the PS4 version of Biomutant, you can upgrade the game for free on the PS5 and port over your old save files.
Admittedly, Biomutant wasn’t able to make the huge splash that it was expecting when it launched a year ago. With this re-release for a new gen, however, there’s a chance for new players to check out this cool world that some are calling Zootopia meets Horizon Zero Dawn.
Here’s the story description:
BIOMUTANT® is an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action.
A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots. The Tribes stand divided. Explore a world in turmoil and define its fate – will you be its saviour or lead it to an even darker destiny?
Biomutant is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but the new-gen version launches on Sept. 6.
