One of the most requested games for the Nintendo Switch was the next iteration of Wii Sports, and that’s what we got with Nintendo Switch Sports. With the game just launching a week ago, Nintendo is already reporting that the highly-anticipated title is off to a great start.

Nintendo Switch Sports Allegedly Off to a Good Start

VGC reports that during an investor Q&A session this week, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said that Nintendo Switch Sports had the potential to broaden the audience of the Switch to ‘people who don’t normally play games.’

While the game is popular for people of all ages in Japan, it’s said that the game is doing well in the European and North American market for people in their mid-20s who used to play the Sports games on the Wii.

For now, the NSS has a lot of great games to get people up and running, but it is said that a golf version will be available down the line soon. We don’t know what else games Nintendo has in store for an expansion, but hopefully they find more creative ways to bring the thrill of sports to the comfort of everyone’s living rooms.

Bring the thrill of your favorite sports to life in Nintendo Switch Sports, available now! Swing, kick, and spike your way to victory locally or online with friends and family, aim for the Pro League in each sport, and create your Sportsmate or use a Mii character to show up to Spocco Square in style.
