In Once Human, Crystal Transformation plays an important role in producing the four essential types of crystals: Beryllium, Vanadium, Iridium, and Platinum. These resources are heavily used for crafting tiered weapons and equipment and can be collected from Strongholds around Nalcott. However, as players progress to the mid and late game, Stronghold farming can become time-consuming and repetitive.

Thankfully, the Crystal Transformation Memetic Specialization makes it easier to obtain these crystals in exchange for some ingots and stardust sources. Here’s how to get Crystal Transformation in Once Human.

How to Get Crystal Transformation

In Once Human, Crystal Transformation is a Memetic Specialization that you can possibly obtain after unlocking additional Memetic slots at Levels 40, 45, and 50. Since Specializations are assigned randomly, the chances of obtaining the Specialization are relatively low. However, you can boost your odds by using Memetic Cleanser and Memory Fragments.

Memetic Cleanser

It’s possible to reset one selected Memetic Specialization using a Memetic Cleanser (formerly known as Specialization Cleaner). This item can be earned by completing Seasonal Goals, with a limit of 5 resets per season. Once a specialization is reset, players can choose from a randomly generated set of options. Repeat the process until the desired Specialization appears.

Specialization Memory Fragments

Alternatively, players can use Specialization Memory Fragments to acquire the Specialization. These Memory Fragments are obtained randomly using a Controller to open chests from dungeons, Prime Wars, and boss rewards. Due to its low rate drop, most players prefer purchasing the Specialization Memory Fragment through a player vending machine or global chat trade.

Once you’ve obtained the Specialization Memory Fragment, do the following steps to use it:

1. Head to the Memetic Specialization menu (Default: O)
2. Select Specialization Memory Fragment at the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Select the Crystal Transformation Specialization memory fragment.
4. Press F to use.
5. Choose one of the existing Memetic Specialization to replace.
6. Select Apply Memory Fragment.
7. Replaced Memetic Specialization will be lost.

Is the Crystal Transformation Specialization Worth It?

The answer is No. Since players are bound to clear strongholds and points of interest, they can collect the alloy crystals they need to craft weapons and equipment. It’s best to reserve the memetic slots for a more important specialization, such as increasing Biomass Generator output, turning stardust ore and portable mixed fuel into Stardust Source, or specialization to craft gold ingots.
