Nahida’s Genshin Impact Background
Lesser Lord Kusanali was a caged bird secluded within the Sanctuary of Surasthana who could only see the world in her dreams. The powerful Akasha System has become her eyes and ears, enabling her to observe and learn about people’s emotions and giving her omnipresent sight and hearing to understand voices that are not praised.
Nahida was kept in the Sanctuary of Surasthana soon after her birth following the death of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata during the cataclysm five hundred years ago. The sages of the Akademiya did not accept her as the new God of Wisdom, rarely spoke with her, and took over the ruling of Sumeru in her place.
Because of this, most of her nation knows little about Lesser Lord Kusanali. The Akademiya promotes the worship of the deceased Greater Lord Rukkhadevata over her, causing most people to be apathetic towards her.
Despite her isolation, the link of her consciousness to the Akasha System gave her access to Akasha’s stores of knowledge, allowing her to possess people by occupying their consciousness, becoming one of her ways to experience the outside world. Nahida is also capable of appearing in the dreams of people across Sumeru and frequently intervenes in the lives of her people through this.
Eventually, Nahida was accepted by the people of Sumeru as their Archon and God of Wisdom, but she still preferred to be called Lesser Lord Kusanali. It was then known to the entire world of Teyvat that Lesser Lord Kusanali was the one and only Dendro Archon of Sumeru. To know the details as to how and why this happened, follow Chapter III of the Archon Quest, which starts with Act I – Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark.
How to Get Nahida in Genshin Impact
Nahida is a 5-star character released as a playable character during the game’s version 3.2 update. She can only be obtained by making wishes on a time-limited Character Wish Banner, which will only feature a special 5-star character if that character is involved in the game’s current contents, like story quests and events.
If Nahida is currently featured on the Character Wish Banner, you will have a chance to do a test run of the character and see if you like her play style. The good news is, as of the writing of this guide, the game has been doing double Character Banner reruns where 5-star characters not part of the current game story content are also featured.

Nahida’s Team Role and Play Style in Genshin Impact
Main or Support DPS
Like all the other Archons in the game, Nahida is mainly designed to be a supporting character in that she is expected to boost the team’s damage output while being able to throw attacks when not on the field. This is made possible by the Seed of Skandha and Tri-Karma Purification, which is unleashed when her Elemental Skill is used.
Nahida can be played and built as a main DPS despite being a support character. This makes her one of the most versatile characters in the game. Nahida’s base kit can be used, and the bonuses can be triggered regardless of whether she is on or off-field. This is especially recommended when you have all her constellation levels unlocked.
Talents
Nahida’s Combat Talents in Genshin Impact
Normal Attack: Akara
This talent allows Nahida to perform up to 4 consecutive attacks that deal Dendro damage to opponents before her. When the button for this talent is held down, she will perform a charged attack that deals AOE Dendro damage to opponents in front of her after a short casting time.
The charged version of this attack deals greater damage in a wider area, but it consumes a certain amount of Stamina.
This talent can also be used mid-air to make a plunging attack where Nahida calls upon the might of Dendro and plunges toward the ground. It will deal AOE Dendro damage upon impact with the ground and damage all opponents in Nahida’s path.
Elemental Skill: All Schemes to Know
Lo, the god of grass and trees, shines her ultimate truth into the void, illuminating the origin and destruction of the three karmas.
Nahida’s Elemental Skill will send forth the karmic bonds of wood and tree from her side to deal AOE Dendro damage to opponents. Up to 8 opponents hit by this attack will be marked with the Seed of Skandha. This talent can also be used by holding down the button; when doing so, it triggers differently.
In hold mode, this Elemental Skill will enter Aiming Mode, allowing you to select a limited number of opponents within a limited area to be hit with Dendro damage and be marked with the Seed of Skandha. While performed this way, Nahida’s resistance to interruption will increase, and the Aiming Mode will last up to 5 seconds. A maximum of 8 opponents can be selected to be marked and damaged in this manner.
Seed of Skandha – this special skill seal will have the following effects:
- Opponents marked by the Seed of Skandha will be linked to one another up until a certain distance.
- After triggering Elemental Reactions on opponents marked by this seal or when they take damage from Dendro Cores, including eon and Hyperbloom damage, Nahida will unleash Tri-Karma Purification on the said opponents. This will deal Dendro damage based on Nahida’s ATK and Elemental Mastery.
- Seedof Skandha lasts up to 25 seconds, and Tri-Karma Purification can only be triggered every 2.5 seconds.
Elemental Burst: Illusory Heart
Perhaps all that dwell under the bowers of trees are naught but a fleeting upside-down dream in the eyes of the God of Wisdom.
Nahida’s Elemental Burst will let her manifest the Court of Dreams to expand the Shrine of Maya. When the Shrine of Maya field is unleashed, the following effects will be separately triggered depending on the Elemental Types present within the party:
- Pyro: While Nahida remains within the Shrine of Maya, the damage dealt by Tri-Karma Purification from her Elemental Burst is increased.
- Electro: While Nahida remains within the Shrine of Maya, the interval between each Tri-Karma Purification from Nahida’s Elemental Burst is decreased.
- Hydro: The duration of the Shrine of Maya is increased from its base duration of 15 seconds.
Since the Tri-Karma Purification still triggers even if Nahida is not on the field, the above-mentioned bonuses will still take effect even if Nahida is not an active character. All it needs is for her teammates to stay inside the Shrine of Maya.
In instances where at least two party members of the aforementioned Elemental Types are present when the Shrine of May is deployed, the said effect will be increased.
Nahida’s Passive Talents in Genshin Impact
Compassion Illuminated
With this passive talent unlocked, When Nahida’s Elemental Burst, Illusory Heart, is used, the Shrine of Maya will have additional bonus effects. That is, the Elemental Mastery of the Active character within the field will be increased by 25% of the Elemental Mastery of the party member with the highest Elemental Mastery. The character getting this buff can gain a maximum of 250 Elemental Mastery in this manner.
The nature of this is passive and does not require Nahida to have the highest Elemental Mastery in the team to maximize its effect.
Awakened Elucidated
Unlocking this passive talent will enhance the effect of Nahida’s Elemental Skill. With this, each point of the Dendro Archon’s Elemental Mastery beyond 200 points will grant 0.1% bonus damage and 0.03% Critical Rate to the Tri-karma Purification triggered by All Schemes to Know.
A maximum of 80% Bonus damage and 24% Critical Rate can be granted to Tri-Karma Purification in this manner.
Utility Passive: On All Things Meditated
Nahida’s passive utility gives a special effect to her Elemental Skill because she can use All Schemes to Know to interact with some harvestable items within a fixed area of effect.
This means you don’t need to get close to harvestable items to pick them up, which is very helpful, especially in farming violetgrass and Kalpalata Lotus, which require climbing cliffs.
This skill may even have some other effects, like hearing the thoughts of certain NPCs, especially those in Sumeru City.
Constellation: Sapientia Oromasdis
Constellation Level 1: The Seed of Stored Knowledge
The first constellation level of the Dendro Archon enhances her Elemental Burst. With this unlocked, when the Shrine of Maya is unleashed and the Elemental Types of the party members are tabulated, the count will add 1 to the number of Pyro, Electro, and Hydro characters, respectively.
This means that the maximum stacks of effect granted and triggered by Nahida’s Elemental Burst will be achieved. If this constellation level has been unlocked, it would be best to have characters with all three elements, Pyro, Electro, and Hydro, in her party.
Constellation Level 2: the Root of All Fullness
The second level of Nahida’s constellation will enhance the effect that the Seed of Skandha can trigger. With this unlock, the opponents that are marked by such seal applied by Nahida herself will be affected by the following effects:
- Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon Reaction damage received by opponents can score Critical Hits. The Critical Rate and Critical Damage of this Elemental Reaction are fixed at 20% and 100%, respectively.
- After opponents get hit or affected by Quicken, Aggravate, and Spread, their Defense will be decreased by 30% for 8 seconds.
Constellation Level 3: The Shoot of Conscious Attainment
Nahida’s third constellation level will increase her three levels of Elemental Skill and All Schemes to Know. The maximum level of that talent will also be upgraded from 10 to 15.
Constellation Level 4: The Stem of Manifest Inference
This fourth level of Constellation: Sapientia Oromasdis will grant enhancement to the Seeds of Skandha effect, which is marked and triggered by All Schemes to Know. With this constellation level unlocked, if 1, 2, 3, or 4 nearby opponents are affected by such an effect, Nahida’s Elemental Mastery will be increased by 100, 120, 140, or 160, respectively.
Constellation Level 5: The Leaves of Enlightening Speech
Nahida’s fifth constellation level will increase her three levels of Elemental Burst and Illusory Heart. The maximum level of that talent will also be upgraded from 10 to 15.
Constellation Level 6: The Fruit of Reason
The last constellation level of Nahida will give a special ability called the Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion, which can only be triggered if she uses Normal or Charged Attacks to opponents affected by the All Scheme to Know’s Seeds of Skandha after her Elemental Burst has been used.
This special ability will deal Dendro damage to the opponents linked by the Seed of Skandha. Such damage is considered Elemental Skill Damage and can be triggered once every 0.2 seconds. The amount of damage is based on 200% of Nahida’s ATK and 400% of her Elemental mastery.
If you have this constellation unlocked, it would be better to make Nahida a main DPS character or one of the most active on the field, at least when her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are used. This is due to how the Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion is triggered.
How to Build Nahida in Genshin Impact
Nahida can be a DPS and support character, but regardless of her role in your team, her kit focuses on a single stat: Elemental Mastery. Given that, the main goal in building her is to increase her Elemental Mastery, and you can do this by equipping her with the right weapon and artifacts.
Nahida’s Weapon in Genshin Impact: Catalyst
Catalyst is Nahida’s weapon, and the ones you need to equip her are ideally the ones with the Elemental Mastery bonus as its secondary stat.
5-Star Catalysts
A Thousand Floating Dreams
This lamp illuminates the dreams that float over a thousand nights, and in its emerald-green light flows a song of ancient days.
This catalyst gives up to 265 Elemental Mastery at maximum enhancement level and has the passive effect called A Thousand Nights’ Dawnsong. With this effect, characters in the team other than the equipping character will provide the equipping character with buffs based on whether their Elemental Type is the same as the latter or not.
If the Elemental Types are the same, the equipping character will have an increase to their Elemental Mastery. If not, the Elemental Damage of the equipping character will be increased instead. Each of the effects above can have up to 3 stacks.
Moreover, all nearby party members other than the one using this weapon will have their Elemental Mastery increased. This effect can be stacked with the same effect from a similar weapon used by other characters in the team.
A Thousand Floating Dreams is Nahida’s best-in-slot weapon and was designed with her kit and play style in mind.
Skyward Atlas
A Cloud atlas symbolizes Dvalin and his former master, the Anemo Archon. It details the winds and clouds of the northern regions and contains the powers of the sky and wind.
Another 5-star catalyst that Nahida can use is the Skyward Atlas. This weapon can provide a lot of ATK for her, thanks to it being the catalyst with the highest base ATK of 674 at level 90, plus the secondary stat of ATK% bonus of up to 33%.
Wandering Clouds is the passive effect of this weapon, which increases the elemental damage of the character using the weapon. This effect also provides the character’s normal attack hits a 50% chance to earn the favor of the clouds, which actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15 seconds. This attack deals 160% damage at refinement level 1 but can only be triggered once every 30 seconds.
Although this weapon does not greatly affect Nahida’s kit, the ATK and Elemental Attack bonus are safe stats for a DPS catalyst user. If you want to maximize Nahida’s kit, this one should only be a temporary weapon until you can get the ones that boost her Elemental Mastery.
4-Star Catalysts
Wandering Evenstar
This was originally a device used by researchers to observe and perform calculations on celestial phenomena. It serves as a conduit and catalyst.
This 4-star weapon can have up to 42 Base ATK and 165 Elemental Mastery for its secondary stat. Its passive effect, Wildling Nightstar, will trigger every 10 seconds to grant the following:
- The equipping character will gain up to 48% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12 seconds, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration.
- Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack.
- This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.
The secondary stat and the effects of this weapon still work well with Nahida because it increases her Elemental Mastery and utilizes it to provide buffs to the team.
Mappa Mare
A nautical chart featuring nearby currents and climates that somehow found its way into Liyue via foreign traders.
This catalyst can give up to 565 ATK from its base stat and 110 Elemental Mastery from its secondary stat. The Infusion Scroll passive effect grants the weapon user an Elemental Damage bonus for 10 seconds whenever they trigger an Elemental Reaction. This effect can be stacked up to 2 times.
Nahida can benefit from this weapon’s effects and stats. Another plus point for this weapon is that it can be crafted, so all you need are the materials, and you will have a decent weapon for your Dendro Archon.
Sacrificial Fragments
A weathered script, the text of which is no longer legible—a cursed item eroded by the winds of time.
This weapon is another 4-satr catalyst that provides up to 221 Elemental Mastery as the maximum enhancement level. Its passive effect is called Composed, which grants a chance for the user’s Elemental Skill to end its cool-down time after the said skill damages an opponent.
Although this 4-star catalyst grants higher Elemental Mastery from its secondary stat, the passive effect will be useless for Nahida since Elemental Skill has a low cool-down time of 5 to 6 seconds.
Fruit of Fulfillment
It holds the potential to conquer any crisis.
This catalyst’s passive effect, Full Circle, grants the user an effect called “Wax and Wane” after triggering an Elemental Reaction. It increases the character’s Elemental Mastery but reduces their attack. This weapon has a base ATK of up to 510, and its secondary stat is an Energy Recharge bonus of up to 45.9%.
A stack of Wax and Wane can be triggered every 0.3 seconds with a maximum of 5 stacks, and this effect can be triggered even if the character using this weapon is not on the field but is in the party. However, one stack will be lost every 6 seconds without triggering an Elemental Reaction.
Despite not having Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat, the passive effect of this catalyst still makes it a decent temporary weapon for Nahida. This is because she will usually trigger Elemental Reaction, thus activating the passive effect and benefiting from the Elemental Mastery bonus that Wax and Wane grant.
Nahida’s Artifacts in Genshin Impact
4-Piece Sets
Gilded Dreams
The 2-piece set of the Gilded Dreams artifact will grant the user an increase to their Elemental Mastery of 80. When four pieces are equipped, within 8 seconds of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members.
For each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, ATK is increased by 14%. For every party member with a different Elemental Type, the character will gain an Elemental Mastery increase of 50. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters, but this effect can be triggered once every 8 seconds. The character who equips this artifact set can still trigger the effects when not on the field.
How this artifact grants a bonus is similar to how Nahida’s Elemental Burst boosts her damage output. All she needs is to have party members with different Elemental Types as her. With that, she will greatly benefit from the effects of the Gilded Dreams artifact set.
Flower of Paradise Lost
The 2-piece set of this artifact will grant the user 80 Elemental Mastery, and if four pieces are equipped, the 4-piece set effect will be activated, as follows. The equipping character’s Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon Elemental Reaction damages are increased by 40%.
Additionally, after the equipping character triggers the mentioned Dendro-related Elemental Reactions, they will gain another 25% bonus to the effect mentioned prior. A maximum of 4 stacks of this effect can be obtained simultaneously, each lasting 10 seconds.
This 4-piece set effect can only be triggered once per second, but the effect can still be triggered even if the character using this artifact set is not on the field. However, to maximize and ensure the effect is properly triggered, this set is better equipped on the main DPS character whose gameplay is focused on triggering Dendro-related Elemental Reactions.
If you are building Nahida as a main DPS character or one of the team’s DPS characters, then this artifact set is a good choice.
Deepwood Memories
This artifact set grants 15% Dendro Damage to the user when at least two pieces are equipped. If a 4-piece set is used, the Dendro Resistance of opponents will be decreased by 30% for 8 seconds if the character using this artifact hits the said opponents with an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst. This effect can still be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
This artifact set is another good choice if Nahida is one of the team’s DPS characters since it mostly buffs her Dendro Damage. However, the bonus that her kit can benefit from this set is somewhat minimal.
Wanderer’s Troupe
With at least two pieces of this artifact used, the character will be granted 80 Elemental Mastery. If a 4-piece set is equipped, the character will receive a 35% damage increase to their Charged Attacks if that character uses a catalyst or a bow.
If you choose this artifact set for Nahida, make her your DPS character. The playstyle should involve a lot of charged attacks to maximize its bonus.
Noblesse Oblige
The 4-piece set of the Noblesse Oblige artifact is a decent option for a support-type Nahida, especially in a coop game where other characters are also active in the field. Its 2-piece set increases the damage of the character’s elemental burst. With four pieces equipped, an additional effect of granting the entire party a boost to their ATK of 20% for 20 seconds whenever Nahida uses his Elemental Burst.
2-Piece Sets Combination
A combination of 2-piece sets of Deepwood Memories, Gilded Dreams, Flower of Paradise Lost, and Wanderer’s Troupe is a good choice for Nahida. Especially the pair that greatly boosts her Elemental Mastery since her kit greatly benefits from this stat.
Artifact Parts’ Main Stat
A Goblet of Eonothem, Sands of Eon, and Circlet of Logos with Elemental Mastery as their main stat would be preferred for Nahida, regardless of her role in the team. This is because her kit greatly benefits from this. You can go with the one with the Dendro Damage Bonus for the Goblet of Eonothem, but this does not do much to her overall kit.
Critical Rate and Critical Damage can be neglected for Nahida because her playstyle involves a lot of Dendro-related Elemental Reactions, and such does not trigger Critical Hits. Only Aggravate and Spread can do Critical Hits, which is very specific. So spending the stat slots on the more useful ones would be best.
Nahida’s Character Ascension in Genshin Impact
What is Character Ascension in Genshin Impact
Each character has a certain level cap depending on their current ascension phase, and a character can be ascended to 6 phases to reach the maximum character level of 90. Passive talents and special ascension stats will also be unlocked when a character is ascended to certain phases.
Nahida’s Ascension Materials in Genshin Impact
Ascending a character will need several items to be used as ascension materials, and for Nahida, the materials and the amount needed for each ascension phase are listed below.
Mora: 420,000
Mora is Genshin Impact’s main currency unit. It is accepted in all the nations of Teyvat and is used to upgrade weapons, artifacts, talents, and character levels.
Quelled Creeper: 46
This elemental core is the final coalesced form of the Dendro Hypostasis, with its pure elemental crystal protected by tough vines. It can be obtained by defeating the Dendro Hypostasis found in the southern part of Dar al-Shifa in the Land of Lower Setekh in Sumeru.
Kalpalata Lotus: 168
A Kalpalata Lotus is a flower from vines that grow on cliff sides that resemble a lotus, which is the sole reason for its name. Aside from that, it bears no other similar properties to the lotus.
Spore Powder
This spore powder is a substance that’s left behind by Floating Fungi. They come in tiny glittering amounts, a small luminescent parcel, or huge lumps. If small parcels are collected, they can be sold in paper packets as a common medical ingredient in the land of rainforests.
The huge lumps, on the other hand, are usually collected from a structurally complete spore cyst. And when put in an appropriate environment, the area might later be filled with a thriving aggregation of Floating Fungi.
These materials can only be obtained without activating when you defeat a Fungi-type monster. This means not using Pyro or Electro to attack them. The different types of spore power are Fungal Spores, Luminescent Pollen, and Crystal Cyst Dust, and the amount needed for each is as follows: Fungal Spores: 18; Luminescent Pollen: 30; Crystal Cyst Dust: 36.
Negadus Emerald
These mineral crystals can be obtained from boss enemies manipulating the Dendro element. Boss enemies such as Dendro Hypostasis, Jadeplume Terrorshroom, and Apep the Devourer of Divinity in the Realm of Beginnings trounce domain. You can also get these from quest and commission rewards by crafting them using the ones with lower rarity.
The amounts needed for each are Negadus Emerald Sliver: 1; Negadus Emerald Fragments: 9; Negadus Emerald Chunks: 9 Negadus Emerald Gemstones: 6.

Nahida’s Talent Level-Up Materials
What are the Talent Level-Up Materials for Nahida
Aside from Mora and Spore Powder, you need a few Puppet Strings to increase Nahida’s combat talents.
Puppet Strings
These tubes were inserted into the mechanical puppet’s back to provide power to it and, at the same time, serve as the strings that control and bind it. The colors that flow within them are sometimes dull and, at others, vibrant. The contrast is so great as to be fearful. When the support of these tubes was lost, the puppet became as weak as a newborn infant, barely able to move.
Puppet Strings are weekly drop items you can obtain by defeating the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom, Shouki no Kami, the Prodigal in Joururi Workshop Trounce Domain in Sumeru.
Talent Level Book: Ingenuity
The talent-level books of the “Ingenuity” series are needed for Nahida’s combat talents. You can obtain these by completing the challenge in the Steeple of Ignorance Domain of Master: Witticism, available on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
These books include The Teachings of Ingenuity, Guide to Ingenuity, and The Philosophies of Ingenuity. The last two can be crafted using the crafting bench in the town.
Crown of Insight
Leveling a combat talent up from level 9 to 10 will need a Crown of Insight, a special item that can only be obtained as a reward from the game’s events.
- Mora: 1,652,500
- Fungal Spores: 6
- Luminescent Pollen: 22
- Crystal Cyst Dust: 31
- Teachings of Ingenuity: 3
- Guide to Ingenuity: 21
- Philosophies of Ingenuity: 38
- Puppet Strings: 6
- Crown of Insight: 1
