Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the early days of the Pokemon universe when humans and Pokémon were far from friends. This game takes place in the Hisui region of the Pokemon universe before it was renamed the Sinnoh region.
The Galaxy Expedition Team (also known as the Galaxy Team) in Jubilife Village will assign the player to the Survey Corps, which is in charge of studying the Pokemon in the region.
To complete Hisui’s first Pokédex, which is used to learn about Pokémon, the player must catch every Pokémon in this region.
In this guide, we will discuss everything you need to know about Cascoon!
Cascoon
Cascoon, the 21st Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Bug-type Cocoon Pokemon with a round and purple body that looks like a cocoon, a body that is covered in purple silk, and a pair of round and red eyes with small white pupils found on two holes on its silk-covered body.
According to its Pokedex entry in the game, the silk covering Cascoon is thin but is really strong. Also, the texture of Cascoon’s silk is superior to that of Silcoon’s, and the clothes made from Cascoon’s silk are considered top-notch.
Basic Information
Cascoon is a Bug-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Fire-type, Flying-type, and Rock-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Fighting-type, Grass-type, and Ground-type moves (not very effective).
Cascoon’s base stats are 50 HP, 35 Attack, 55 Defense, 25 Special Attack, 25 Special Defense, and 15 Speed, for a total of 205.
Cascoon can be evolved from a Wurmple once it reaches Level 7, then evolves into a Beautifly once it reaches Level 10. Wumple will evolve into a Cascoon or a Cascoon, and the Pokemon that it will evolve to is decided at random.
Cascoon prefers Springy Mushroom, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans. This is useful when the player feeds it food to distract it before catching it.
The player will get a Spoiled Apricorn and an Apricorn after a Cascoon is caught or defeated.
Location
Cascoon can be only found in the following location:
In the Obsidian Fieldlands: in the Floaro Gardens and The Heartwood.
Cascoon can be found in the mentioned area in every weather condition but only at night (nightfall).
Also the Cascoon can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Obsidian Fieldlands.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Cascoon’s Pokedex entry:
Multiplier | Research Task | Objectives |
x2 | Number caught | 1/2/4/10/15 |
Number caught at night | 1/2/5/10/20
Number defeated | 1/3/6/12/20
The number you’ve defeated with Fire-type moves | 1/2/4/10/15
x2 | Times you’ve seen it use Poison Sting | 1/3/6/12/25 |
x2 | The number caught at night | 1/2/3 |
Investigated how Silcoon and Cascoon differ | 1 |
In order to complete a Pokemon’s Pokedex entry, the player must let it reach Research Level 10. To gain a Research Level, the player must complete an objective from one of the Research Tasks. Completing an objective from the Research Tasks with an x2 multiplier will add two Research Levels.
To quickly complete Cascoon’s Pokedex entry, the player must catch five Cascoon at night, which ticks the first, second, and third objectives of the “number caught” and “number caught at night” Research Entries to raise the Research Level to 9 thanks to first one’s x2 multiplier, and defeat one more Cascoon, which ticks the first objective of the “Number defeated” Research Task to gain one more Research Level, to reach Research Level 10.
Moves
Cascoon will be able to learn and master these moves by leveling up:
Move | Type | Learn Level | Master Level | Power | Accuracy | PP |
Iron Defense | Steel type | upon evolving | 15 | 0 | – | 20 |
Poison Sting | Poison type | 1 | 10 | 30 | 100 | 20 |
Tackle | Normal type | 6 | 15 | 40 | 100 | 30 |
Relevant Request
Cascoon is involved in Request 10, called “Wurmple’s Evolved,” Completing this request will also tick the “Investigated how Silcoon and Cascoon differ” Research Task.
In order to unlock request 10, the player must complete Beauregard’s request titled ‘Wurmple Can Evolve’, the very first request in the game, where the player must catch a Wurmple and give it to him, catch at least 35 different Pokemon, then head back to Beauregard to see his Wurmple evolve, catch 10 more Pokemon to register to the player’s Pokedex, and the player must have a Silcoon and Cascoon that was manually evolved from Wurmples.
After completing the mentioned requirements, the player can now start this request. To do that, head to the Galaxy Hall and go to Professor Laventon’s room on the left of Captain Cyllene’s office. Then, a blackboard where the player can accept requests can be found in Professor Laventon’s room, just behind the professor. Press the A button to interact with the blackboard, then select “Wurmple’s Evolved!” Request from the prompt. And just like that, the request started!
Once the request has started, exit the Galaxy Hall and talk to Beauregard’s standing post near the entrance, who will tell the player that Professor Laventon thinks his Wurmple has evolved into a Cascoon, but Beauregard thinks its a Silcoon. So, Beauregard will ask the player to catch a Silcon and then show it to him so he can distinguish which is which.
The player must now catch a Silcoon. Again, Silcoon can only be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands, specifically in the Floaro Gardens west of the Fieldlands Camp and The Heartwood near the Grandtree Arena in the southeast of the map of the Obsidian Fieldlands. Silcoon will only appear in these locations during the day (morning, midday, and evening).
As mentioned above, Silcoon can also be obtained by evolving a Wurmple. Again, it will evolve into either a Silcoon or a Cascoon, and there is no way to guarantee it will evolve into a Silcoon.
This method would most likely need several attempts at catching a Wurmple and allowing it to evolve. If you can’t find a Silcoon, this option will always be available.
The player can also only find Wurmples in the Obsidian Fieldlands, specifically in the Floaro Gardens, Horseshoe Plains, and a little bit south of Aspiration Hill, which are all in the northern part of Obsidian Fieldlands, or The Heartwood in the southeast part of the Obsidian Fieldlands.
Once the player captures a Silcoon, return to Jubilife Village, head to Beauregard, still posted outside the Galaxy Hall, and Talk to him to show him the Cascoon you caught.
When he compares it to his Cascoon, he will assume at first that they are identical, but when he realizes that they aren’t, he will still find it hard to believe that two Pokemon could be so similar yet belong to different species of Pokemon.
He will then apologize to his Silcoon for not actually knowing his Pokemon, and their relationship will now be closer than ever.
Finally, the request is finished, and Beauregard will give the player one Exp. Candy S, for your efforts.
Now that the player knows about Cascoon, the player can now catch one to complete missions and other requests and complete Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch’em all!
