Players who had their last save in the Labyrinth before the patch reported being unable to progress after reaching the rotating cube puzzle. Despite repeatedly loading their last save, they found they couldn’t access the second area.

Information on the Labyrinth Breaking Bug
Due to the increased complaints from Steam discussion and Reddit, the Bloober Team released a statement to address the Labyrinth Breaking Bug issue.
[Announcement]
We are aware of an issue some players may encounter after the most recent 1.04 patch released on October the 21st in the Labyrinth level of Silent Hill 2.Our team has identified the issue, and a fix is in implementation.
The fix will be released as soon as possible.
Currently, we would like to propose a temporary workaround which is using an earlier save, before entering the Labyrinth. We deeply apologize for this inconvenience.
We would like to sincerely thank all players for their patience.
The progression breaking bug in Silent Hill 2 Remake can occur if you load a save data from the Labyrinth level, which is after Toluca Prison, created before applying the 1.04 patch. This applies to both PC and PlayStation 5.
Temporary Workaround
Bloober Team proposes a temporary workaround for this game breaking bug, which is using an earlier save from before entering the Labyrinth. However, this solution has left many players frustrated, as most of their recent saves are from hours before the Labyrinth section. This is why saving frequently in different save slots is important, especially during the first month release of the game.
