With Star Wars Jedi: Survivor set to come out in 2023, PlayStation has a treat for anyone who hasn’t checked out the original Fallen Order game yet.
As announced on the PlayStation Blog, January’s PlayStation Plus monthly games will include Respawn Entertainment’s hit game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The game follows Cal Kestis, a Jedi on the run who has to suddenly re-learn his training after he becomes targeted by the Jedi-hunting Sith Inquisitors. While we’ve had Star Wars games before, Fallen Order was lauded for its soulslike elements and ability to add some difficulty when it comes to lightsaber combat.
Here’s the official description for Fallen Order:
Following the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Senator Palpatine’s deadly Order 66 — designed to destroy the Jedi order and pave the way for the Empire to rise — you are the last remaining Jedi Padawan and their last hope of survival. Pick up the pieces of your shattered past and complete your Jedi training, develop powerful Force abilities and master your Lightsaber on your quest to rebuild the Jedi. Fight to stay one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors, use your Jedi training to strategically approach every fight, and visit far-flung corners of the Star Wars galaxy, packed with new characters, creatures, enemies and droid.
While not perfect, Fallen Order should get fans properly hyped up for the release of Survivor in March. We don’t know what exactly is next for Cal’s story, but I’m eager to see his playstyle evolve with each new game.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order becomes available for PS Plus members on Jan. 3, 2023. Fallen Order is currently available for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Watch out for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which launches March 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
