Tekken isn’t the only game gearing up for its next mainline entry. Street Fighter 6 is set to release later this June, and we have some new gameplay footage featuring classic character E. Honda, and new face Lily.
Check this out:
My pleasure! Lily and E. Honda soar head-to-head against each other in this special developer match.
By a lot of fans are familiar with Honda’s movelist which include fast sumo palms and a move which launches himself at the enemy. The gameplay video also gives us a look at both characters’ special moves.
On the other hand, we have Lily who looks to be influenced by local South American culture. While Street Fighter as a franchise is more of a ‘powers’ than a ‘weapons’ fighting game, Lily is made to wield two ball-headed clubs; and it’s possible she could have some kind of spiritual power that she uses during fights.
What’s curious is, when Lily was first revealed, her character was kind of a ditzy girl played for laughs, but now it seems that he moves have become more serious. I don’t know if this was an option the whole time, or maybe Capcom is doing some damage control after they gave audiences a first look at the character.
So far, the roster for Street Fighter 6 is slowly filling up, and we should have a look at the complete fighter list by the time June comes along. Don’t forget we should expect some DLC characters as well.
Street Fighter 6 launches for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 2, 2023.
