The magical world of TERA offers plenty of new experiences for players, as there are many classes to explore. However, you’re limited to only two-character slots initially.

How to Get More Character Slots in TERA

How would you get more slots to play the other classes that have caught your eye?

Thankfully, there are ways to get more character slots. Most require players to spend money, but sometimes the developers give out free slots. Keep on reading to find out how to get them.

Getting Founder Status

TERA used to be a paid game, but once it switched to a free-to-play model, players who bought it could achieve Founder status. You’ll need the serial number of the hard copy you purchased. Once you obtain Founder status, you get to have eight-character slots in total.

However, if you already had more than eight slots, getting Founder status will downgrade your account. If you already spent money or farmed for slots, we don’t recommend activating Founder status.

Buying Character Slots With Money

You can spend money to buy vouchers that grant you a new character slot in the game’s shop. They cost Thalers, TERA’s premium currency. However, you can only get Thalers by spending money in-game.

Free Slots With TERA Collector’s Edition

The Collector’s Edition of TERA will cost you much more than a standard hard copy, but it also has a special bonus. Besides the Founder status bonus, you’ll also get a new character slot each time the developers release a new class. This special privilege will ensure you have enough space for all the classes you want to play.

Farming for Gold

Alternatively, you can also use your Gold on character slots. You’ll need to farm plenty of Gold before buying a slot, but it’s doable. All you need is plenty of patience.

Gold is essential in TERA, as your other equipment will also need it. Getting new skills will also set you back.

Fortunately, there are various ways to get Gold, namely:

  • Dungeons

Playing in Dungeons only takes a few minutes if you have a kitted-out team. The more characters you have, the more Gold you can get. As playing Dungeons burns your Adventure Coins, it takes a long time to get enough Gold.

  • Guardian Missions

Completing Guardian Missions will yield Jewel Boxes as rewards. These boxes sell for a few hundred Gold, and it’s your call whether to open or sell them. The caveat is you only get 40 boxes a day per account.

  • Brokering

Buying items at a lower price and selling them when the price goes up is also a valid strategy to make money. This method can be tedious, and it’s not for everyone. If you’re willing to sweat for your Gold, though, you can give it a try.

  • Naslow Maps

If you chance upon some Naslow Maps, you can play in the area for three hours. The loot crates and other treasures in the area will sell for good money. Bring some friends along to make the experience more entertaining.

Free Character Slots

Occasionally, the developers will give out free character slots. When the PlayStation and Xbox servers merged in 2020, players could log in and get a free slot. Don’t expect this to be a common occurrence, however.

I Can Finally Play a New Character

Players who spend some money can get character slots quickly, but those who wish to grind will have a long road ahead of them. Take advantage of double Gold events if there are any, as they save plenty of time. With enough real-world money or grinding, you can finally try out that new class.
