How to Summon the Grim Reaper
Before your Sim can charm the Grim Reaper in The Sims 4, they need to meet him first, and this can only happen under specific circumstances. The Grim appears in-game when a Sim dies, so the easiest way to arrange a meeting is to have an unfortunate (and hopefully willing) Sim meet their untimely end.
Ways to Summon the Grim Reaper
- Natural Death – If a Sim reaches the end of their natural lifespan, they will eventually pass away, which prompts the Grim to appear. This is a simple method, but it means waiting for old age to take its course, which takes a long time.
- Accidental Deaths – Quicker (and more dramatic) options for meeting the Grim include accidental deaths. A Sim can die from drowning, fire, starvation, or even electrocution. The most common method is inviting a Sim over and letting them swim in your pool, then building a wall around the pool’s edge.
- Death via Cheats – Using cheats is the easiest and most controlled way to summon the Grim. To kill a Sim, type in the console command
CTRL + ALT + C
for PC orR1 + R2 + L1 + L2
for consoles, and then typetestingcheats true
. Once activated,Shift + Left Click
on the Sim, select Kill and then choose Be Slain by a Vicious Killer Rabbit. - Meet at Workplace – If you own the Life and Death expansion pack, you can join the Reaper career, where you can meet the Grim at the workplace. With this method, you don’t need sacrifices.
Once the Grim appears, take advantage of the few minutes he spends performing his duties. Have your Sim approach and introduce themselves, but be quick since the Grim will leave shortly after completing this task. You can find more death cheats here.
How to Romance Grim Reaper
When you first interact, keep things friendly, as he’s not very receptive to romantic gestures right away. Use basic interactions like Get to Know and Brighten Day to gradually build up the friendship level. Avoid any negative or awkward interactions.
As the friendship meter increases, you’ll notice that the Grim becomes more receptive to casual flirtations. Start with low-risk interactions, like Compliment Appearance or Flirt, until his romance bar is high enough to Hold Hands and Blow a Kiss. If the romance bar is near 50%, you can go for the First Kiss to deepen the romance.
Note: Keep in mind you can fill up Grim Reaper’s romance, but it’s not possible to marry him.
Add Grim Reaper to Household
If you would rather skip the setup, cheats let you bypass the friendship-building process entirely by adding Grim to your Family. With Grim in your household, you can interact with him anytime without worrying about his next job.
- First, open the cheat command
CTRL + ALT + C
for PC orR1 + R2 + L1 + L2
for consoles. - Type
testingcheats true
. Once activated,Shift + Left Click
on the Sim. - Select Add to Family.
This shortcut opens up plenty of opportunities for romance without the hassle of waiting for another Sim’s demise.
Note: If you find Grim stuck Shift + Left Click
on him, then select Reset Object.
How to Have a Baby with Grim Reaper
The Life and Death expansion pack comes with a new feature. The Grim Reaper in The Sims 4 can reproduce, but he can only get Sims pregnant.
To have a baby with Grim Reaper, players will have to increase the romance meter until the Try for a Baby option becomes available under the Physical Intimacy interaction of the Romance section.
