I have an Xfinity Flex streaming box just sitting here going to waste. It’s supposed to be the tool I use to gain access to Peacock at no cost. Frankly, I haven’t had a single reason to watch Peacock, so I’ve never even hooked the silly thing up. But now there’s Unidentified with Demi Lovato. Now Peacock and this box have both justified their existence to me.
The Hollywood Reporter says Lovato will “investigate UFO reports” in the new unscripted series. Lovato, their sister Dallas, and their best friend Matthew will dive deep into the mysteries of various unidentified flying objects “while consulting with leading experts.”
The singer and actor apparently believes there is life out there — that humans are not the only intelligent beings in a vast, seemingly endless universe that we have yet to begin properly exploring. If you are inclined to agree — and you want to see Demi Lovato try their darndest to prove it — it sounds like this show was tailor made for you.
I’m personally already sold on Unidentified with Demi Lovato. I know it’ll appear on this Peacock thing eventually. I just want to know when. Unfortunately, The Hollywood Reporter article didn’t have any news on that front, which suggests the show is still a ways out from release. Until then, I suppose this Flex box will remain boxed up and unplugged from the TV.
[Update, 5/19/2021: Changed Demi’s pronouns in light of this news.]
