Put those one-way smokes to good use on Lotus.
Lotus is VALORANT’s most anticipated map of the year. Riot Games pulled out all the stops to make Lotus one of the most complex and challenging maps, featuring three unique bomb sites and several cool map elements, such as rotating doorways and silent drops.
Players are still trying to learn the ins and outs of Lotus, and as such, there isn’t an Agent meta on the map just yet. However, if Haven is anything like Lotus gameplay-wise, players might see a similar meta Agent makeup on Lotus.
One thing is for sure, Viper will, in one way or another, become a relevant Agent on Lotus, thanks to her powerful Toxic Screen and versatile Poison Cloud abilities.
We have lined up some useful Viper Smoke setups that you can use on Lotus.
Lotus A-site Viper Smoke Setup
Viper’s Poison Cloud is best used with Viper’s Toxic Screen to set up executes and defensive cover on Lotus.
For Attacking the A-site, you will want to use Viper’s Poison Cloud to cover as many extra angles as possible on your way to A-site. In this case, Viper’s Poison Cloud can be lined up to cover A-Stairs, which can help secure your team’s push through A-Main.
For Defending, you can just set up simple Poison Cloud placements to block off common Attacker angles.
A-stairs Smoke (Attacking)
- Stand along this part of the wall outside A-Lobby:
2. Place the left tip of the right HUD line on this corner of the wall:
3. Throw Viper’s Poison Cloud:
4. If you manage to line it up properly, Viper’s Poison Cloud should land inside A-Stairs.
A-site Spike Plant Smoke (Attacking)
- Stand in this corner in A-Root:
2. Place the middle of Viper’s Poison Cloud mouse indicator in this corner by the wall:
3. Throw Viper’s Poison Cloud:
4. When done properly, Viper’s Poison Cloud should land on top of the box at A-Hut:
Lotus B-site Viper Smoke Setup
Lotus B-site’s layout makes lineups a bit more difficult to execute. Fortunately, there is an opening just big enough for Viper’s Poison Cloud to drop down and land at either C-Link or B-Upper.
B-site Smoke
- At Attacker Side Spawn, look for these intersecting lines connecting the tiles.

B-site Platform Smoke
- Align yourself with this dot on the box just outside B-Main:
2. Take out Viper’s Poison Cloud and use the mouse indicator to line it up with this insignia on the B-Main arch:

When lined up properly, Viper’s Poison Cloud should land on the platform at B-Upper:
Lotus C-site Viper Smoke Setup
C-site is a bit more simple to play around in compared to A-site or B-site on Lotus.
For Attacking the B-site, you will mostly rely on Viper’s Toxic Screen to provide most of the cover within C-site. You can follow up with a normal Poison Cloud placement to fortify the bombsite and aid with post-plant play. That said, you can line up a one-way smoke at C-site Entrance to help your team cross C-Mound easier.
For Defense, you can line up a simple one-way smoke to cover C-Main or push the action by lining up a one-way smoke deep in C-Mound.
C-site Basic Smoke
- For C-site, you can throw a basic C-Main smoke and call it a day. A simple Poison Cloud along C-Main will be one of the most effective smokes for C-site.
C-Main One-way Smoke (Defending)
- Stand in this corner in C-site:
2. Align the second line from the left on your fuel gauge with the corner of the small pillar on the wall.
3. Left-click throws Viper’s Poison Cloud:
Poison Cloud should land on a small ledge at C-site Entrance.
C-Main One-way (Attacking)
- Align yourself with the right edge of this box in C-Lobby:
2. Place the left tip of Viper’s Snake Bite charge indicator on the upper right corner of the small ledge on the wall:
3. Throw Viper’s Poison Cloud:
If you manage to line this up properly, Viper’s Poison Cloud should land along the small ledge on the C-Main entryway:
Lotus Lockdown
Viper’s Poison Cloud can be placed in various ways on Lotus. While you can not go wrong with setting up Viper’s Poison Cloud like any other smoke ability in VALORANT, you can line up Viper’s Poison Cloud and position it in spots where no other smoke can.
On Lotus, Viper’s Poison Cloud can be used for Defensive one-way smokes or long-range execute setups for Attacking, making it a versatile ability that works well for both Attacking and Defending on the map.
