Watch 9 Minutes of Gameplay for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Just in, IGN has dropped a 9-minute gameplay video that gives us a look at Cal Kestis’ early skillset in the game. Check this out:

Get an early look at one of the first new planets Cal Kestis will explore in the upcoming sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This video covers 9 minutes of gameplay that takes place after Cal crash lands on Koboh and must seek out help to repair his ship, The Mantis.

With the first game working on the premise that Cal is a former Jedi trying to re-learn his training, the game kind of starts out with Cal already having his upgrades from the previous game, including the dual-bladed saber and the ability to split them into twin sabers.

We also see that his Force powers are still intact, and the fighting system is essentially the same, with the enemies glowing red before they perform an attack.

Even though a lot of this looks familiar to Fallen Order players, there have been teases that Cal will get other abilities with him being said to be wielding a blaster. It’s also teased that Cal will be getting a crossguard saber which will have a longer blade and feel like a heavy Dark Souls blade.

It’s just my personal gripe, but I think Cal still runs kind of weird in the game. But besides all that, I think it all looks pretty great.

Catch Star Was Jedi: Survivor when it comes out on April 28 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5.
