Potter fans have been waiting for a release date for the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy, but there is another game set in the Wizarding World that could give gamers their Potter fix.
Here’s the official announce trailer for Harry Potter: Magic Awakened:
While we don’t have a look at the gameplay yet, Magic Awakened is described as an ‘immersive collectible card game’ with ‘MMO and RPG elements’. The official description also reads:
Players take on the role of a first-year student at Hogwarts, joining millions of players online in a journey to master the magic. Browse the dazzling shops in Diagon Alley, solve mysteries while roaming the halls, fight thrilling duels, explore the Forbidden Forest and more!
While the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy embraces the more realistic look of the films, Magic Awakened is a lot more stylized—like something out of a Tim Burton cartoon. If you ask me, they’re actually drawing from the same look as the animated sequence from Deathly Hallows:
Since we don’t have a release date yet, we don’t know when we could be getting a look at gameplay, but it’s possible that they will want this to come out before Hogwarts Legacy which is rumored for a release this year—possibly in September. Until we get some official announcement, all we can really do is wait.

No release date has been set for Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, but it is set to come to the iOS and Android sometime later this year.
