Witcher 4 may not be releasing anytime soon, but CDPR is launching the next-gen update for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt next month. Just in, we have a long, in-depth overview of the update, and it has members of the development team talking about the changes coming for the new-gen.

Watch the newest episode of REDstreams with Amelia Kołat (Senior Community Manager), Alicja Kozera (Community Manager), Philipp Weber (Acting Narrative Director) and Charles Tremblay (Engineering Director) discuss what exactly the free next gen update will bring to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!
Like a lot of new-gen games, the update will bring ray tracing to Wild Hunt with new models of all different kinds of textures to help bring the game to life. With all this new detail being added to the game, the devs have also included an official photo mode and are even teasing a photo contest for all the in-game photographers in the community.
For PlayStation users, they’ve also made use of the haptic feedback technology to enhance the player’s Witcher experience. There have also been some changes when it comes to the map and overall combat system, just to make experienced players enjoy the game to their particular specifications.
Despite the 30-minute video, the devs say that they’ve barely covered everything that would be included in the update, so we should watch out for some more deep-dives in the future.
The new-gen update for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt launches on Dec. 14 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
