Next week will see the launch of Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Remake, and Square Enix is making sure everyone gets excited for the prequel to their highly successful FFVII Remake. Thanks to IGN, we have a look at the first 15 minutes of the game which has protagonist Zack Fair doing a mission on a speeding train.
Check this out:
The original game had come out in 2007 for the PSP, so you can imagine the kind of modifications the developers had to do to bring this game to modern platforms. If anything, it looks like the specs to play the updated version of the game are still minimal, that’s why it’s still playable on the Nintendo Switch. I imagine the main Remake trilogy is still the more graphically demanding title.
For now, the next mainline FFVII game is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth which will see the continuing story of Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. Though a lot of fans are already aware of what kind of fate is waiting for the characters, Square has hinted that we could see a change in the events, implying that we’re playing on a completely different timeline just with the same characters.
Play as SOLDIER operative Zack Fair and trigger the events that lead up to FINAL FANTASY VII. Engage in fast-paced real-time action combat to uncover the dark secrets of Shinra’s experiments and the monsters they create.
Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is set to launch for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on Dec. 13.
