The Egg Festival occurs every 13th of Spring and is the first festival held in Stardew Valley’s Pelican Town. The colorful, Easter-like festival has a main event called the Egg Hunt, which is not an easy game to win.
Stardew Valley’s festivals happen a couple of times every season. Participating in these events will help you build stronger relationships with the villagers, and you can bag rare items and unique rewards. These special events are a yearly reminder that there is more to this farming simulator than making a fortune and expanding your farmhouse.
About the Egg Festival
The Town Square opens up for the Egg Festival from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. You will miss the festival if you fail to enter Town Square between those times.
The event is divided into two portions — the first part explores the event location while socializing with the villagers, and the second part is the Egg Hunt. You can expect the first portion to occur in all the festivals you experience. After all, Pelican Town’s lively community is the soul of these gatherings.
Socializing at special events is very helpful in getting friendship points from the villagers. In addition, you can talk to them and find out the ones most excited about the festival. You may notice the children are looking forward the most to the Egg Hunt in this event.
The Egg Hunt is a game where you and the other participants have a race to pick up as many patterned eggs as possible. The reward for winning the Egg Hunt is a Straw Hat, and every year, Abigail manages to walk away with the prize (unless you defeat her!) If you have already won the first prize once, you will receive 1,000 gold instead.

If you are done talking with all the villagers partaking in the event, talk to Linus. Once you’ve agreed to start the Egg hunt, the second part of the festival will officially begin. To defeat Abigail, you must memorize the hidden eggs’ location and the path to find them.
Winning the Egg Hunt!
The picture above shows one of the best routes to pick up the eggs. You will only be given 50 seconds to find all the eggs scattered around. Ideally, you need to pick up at least nine eggs to beat Abigail. Following the directional pattern drawn on the map above and moving as swiftly as possible, you can find at least eleven eggs before the timer ends.
You may not win this game the first time or even the second time around. Do not lose hope! Stardew Valley has no official ending, so you will have plenty of chances to try winning the Egg Hunt game again each year the festival is celebrated.
