Microsoft just started off the week with what is essentially an Xbox Game Pass bomb. Nine new titles have been announced for the service, bringing the grand total of titles we have confirmed for the month up to 10. In the coming days and weeks, players can look forward to Dragon Quest Builders 2, FIFA 21, Outlast 2, Steep, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, Just Cause 4: Reloaded, Psychonauts, Red Dead Online, Remnant: From the Ashes, and Knockout City. Xbox Game Pass for May 2021 is ready to burst at the seams.

Out of everything on this list, we’re probably the happiest to see Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster. Microsoft struck a deal with Square Enix all the way back in 2019 that and stated all of the Final Fantasy games would come to Game Pass in 2020. Of course, COVID-19 happened and likely threw some things off. It’s nice to see that particular deal is getting back on track.

Also interesting is the addition of Red Dead Online. It seems Rockstar is liking what it’s seeing from Xbox Game Pass; at least enough to now put two of its games on the service at one time. You can already play Grand Theft Auto 5 on consoles. If that’s showing good signs of getting more people invested in Grand Theft Auto Online, the company could be angling for something similar with its Red Dead counterpart.

Of course, the good news doesn’t come without some bad. Xbox Game Pass for May 2021 will see the exit of six titles by the middle of the month, including Alan Wake, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, Dungeon of the Endless, Final Fantasy 9, Hotline Miami, and Plebby Quest: The Crusades. If you have these on your schedule, you might want to bump them up and make sure they’re played before May 15 rolls around.

Be sure to keep up with these and other additions by checking our Xbox Game Pass List. And one small final note: This may not be the last major Xbox news story that drops in the next day or two. Rumblings on the internet suggest some other announcement could be on the way. Keep your eyes peeled.

What it means for you: More games in Xbox Game Pass means more value for you as a consumer. If you’re a subscriber, these are now games you don’t have to pay full price for.
