This week sees the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on the Nintendo Switch, and though you could be on the fence for the game, Nintendo has dropped a new trailer focusing on the two leads of the new installment.
Take a good look at Noah and Mio and their mission in Xenoblade Chronicles 3:
An off-seer from Keves, Noah’s fate is entwined with another whose aid will be instrumental in saving Aionios.
An off-seer from Agnus, Mio’s fate is entwined with another whose aid will be instrumental in saving Aionios.
Though Noah and Mio are considered to be the main protagonists of the game, Xenoblade 3 will actually introduce a party of six characters—with each pair being able to link and form what the lore calls an Orouboros.
The lore is pretty neat, and it feels kind of a mishmash of the paired pilots concept from Pacific Rim and gem fusion from Steven Universe. While the story does sound pretty much like your standard fantasy anime, I would expect anything less from a franchise like Xenoblade Chronicles.
Join Noah and Mio, members of the two opposing nations of Keves and Agnus, on a heartfelt journey through a rich open world to end the cycle of violence. A group of six characters from these nations join together to awaken the colonies of Aionios and expose the true threat both nations face. Traverse massive, fantastical landscapes as you learn how this game connects to the larger Xenoblade Chronicles™ story.
Command six characters and seamlessly enter real-time, RPG combat
All six of your core party members jump into action against enemies, auto-attacking with their distinct arts and weapons. Position your team to take advantage of Arts and maximize damage and debuffs. Pairs of characters can Interlink to form a mighty Ouroboros capable of taking down the most threatening enemies with powerful Arts.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
