Zombie Army 4 Dead War might sound like the generic zombie knockoff, but this game has much more to offer than many expect. While the missions and story aren’t really anything impressive, it is basically, a great shooter. It is a spinoff from Sniper Elite, which many enjoy, and while you shoot wave after wave of zombies, this game has some flavor to it.
In any case, after each of the boring missions, or during them for that matter, you will come across different safes, which you can pillage. But to do so, you must find a way to unlock them.
Unlocking Safes in Zombie Army 4: Dead War
As I said, you will need to find a way to unlock the chests you find in the Zombie Army 4 world. However, there are different styles of chests, and each of them will unlock differently.
The most common chest is the one which unlocks with heroic acts. Meaning, to unlock the chest, you must rescue the NPC which will inevitably be close to it.
This is all well and good, but there are also safes which will require you to solve puzzles to open them. Now, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all for opening these, but the general rule is that you should focus on finding clues near the safe.
For example, there is a safe which has gas rats written on the wall next to it with five masks hanging. With a bit of intuition, players found out that a player needs to shoot five gas mask rats to open the chest.
Finding them is a hassle since they’re well-hidden on the map, but you get the gist of it. There are multiple safe types, and if there aren’t any NPCs that need saving nearby, then chances are that you would need to solve some sort of puzzle to unlock the chest.
Since this Zombie Army 4 is a Sniper Elite spinoff, the game is relatively complex, so, expect touch puzzles as well. May you have luck on your journey, solider!
