If you decide to play some PvP (player vs. player) fights in Epic 7, you’ll want only the best heroes (characters) in your 4-man team. Unfortunately, not all characters are created the same, and some are woefully unequipped to deal with most opponents. We’re here to provide some assistance in building the perfect team with our Epic 7 tier list.
Explanation of Tiers
Our tier list looks at an average performance of all heroes, with a slight skew towards PvP and Boss combat. While PvE (player vs. environment) is an essential aspect of Epic 7, it has slightly lower stakes than the ever-changing metagame of PvP fights.
We use a tier-based system similar to what most people are used to, with S-tier heroes on the top. You might not agree with all entries on this tier list, and that’s completely OK. Our list provides a baseline to work with, and experienced players can shift some heroes between tiers based on their performance against the top-ranking ones.
S-Tier
The S tier contains the best of the best, typically the all-around strongest heroes regardless of the game mode you’re taking them to. Most of these are 5-star (and therefore rare to come by), with only one exception. If you have any of these heroes, they will most likely make up the centerpiece of your strategy and should be heavily prioritized for upgrades.
S-Tier Heroes
- Arbiter Vildred
- Auxiliary Lots (only 4-star in this tier)
- Ruele of Light
- Iseria
- Martial Artist Ken
- Specter Tenebria
- Yufine
- Roana
- Seaside Bellona
- Vivian
- Vildred
- Krau
- Luluca
A-Tier
The next tier is A-Tier, and this one is typically the most problematic for tier lists. Sometimes, there are negligible differences between S and A heroes, and even slight changes in the metagame or players finding new strategies can move them around. Overall, all A-tier heroes are excellent options and are typically versatile for future upgrades.

B-Tier
Heroes in the B-tier are solid options for your team’s backbone. Unfortunately, they are typically either not as powerful as A-tier heroes or are much stronger in PvE than PvP combat, making them less useful in some scenarios. However, if you have upgraded B-tier characters, they could carry their weight between some A-tiers without much of a problem.

C-Tier

D-Tier
D-tier is pretty much a tier to avoid. While some of these might be useful in certain circumstances, you’re guaranteed to find a better choice among your current roster. Like heroes strong in PvP modes only, some exceptions are too hard to rank up to be useful for their rarity. Generally, their paltry PvE performance makes them a resource sink.
D-Tier Heroes
- Cartuja
- Chaos Sect Axe
- Helen
- Mediator Kawerik
- Melany
- Otillie
- Archdemon’s Shadow (good PvP, atrocious PvE)
- Helga
- Nemunas
- Montmorancy
- Roozid
- Desert Jewel Basar
- Corvus
- Tieria
- Elson
- Roaming Warrior Leo
- Adlay
- Muse Rima
- Kiris
- Judith
- Enott
F-Tier
If you get a few of these as your starting summons, you might as well just reroll. The first few could be considered at the bottom of the D-tier, but the final ones are just way too bad.
F-Tier Heroes
- Azalea
- Kluri
- Pearlhorizon
- Rima
- Taranor Royal Guard
- Jena
Can You Reroll in Epic 7
When you start the game, you get a few free summonses to lure you in. Since the early game progress happens relatively quickly, it’s sometimes better to just reroll if you’ve received weak heroes. That won’t always happen, though, since the game tries to make you stick around. If you want to try your luck again, restarting is a straightforward process:
- Tap on the left-most menu icon.
- Go into “Settings.”
- Select “Reset Server.”
- Confirm your choice.
Better Heroes for Greatness in Epic 7
Since the game frequently receives new patches and heroes, the tier list can change every few months as players discover more potent hero combinations. However, online lists are always a great start to weed out the worst possible options.
