Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes plays on the olden days of the Pokemon world – a time when finding harmony between people and Pokemon was rare. Set in the land of the Hisui region, known as the Sinnoh region in modern times, you’ll join the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will also ask for help from the player through requests. One of these requests is Request 33, titled ‘What a Massive Mushroom!’. In this guide, you’ll learn how to complete the ‘What a Massive Mushroom!’ request.
What a Massive Mushroom!
To unlock this request, the player must first complete the “Mushroom Cake Marketing” request (request 6), receive the “Arezu’s Predicament” mission, which is the eighth mission in the game and where the player must quell the Lady of the Ridge Liligant’s frenzy, and added Parasect into the player’s Pokedex.
After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request. To do just that, head on to the Galaxy Hall and proceed to Professor Laventon’s room on the left side of Captain Cyntelle’s office. In Professor Laventon’s room, you will find a blackboard just behind Professor Laventon himself. On this blackboard, there are a few requests that the player can take on. Read what’s on the blackboard, and when prompted, select the ‘What a Massive Mushroom!’ request. Just like that, the request has started!
According to the request description, Morel, a local fungus expert, wants to investigate the mushroom on Parasect’s back. To complete this request, this is what the player must do:
- Exit the Galaxy Hall and head to the Morel’s quarters, the second house from the top on the left side houses south of the Galaxy Hall (turn on guidance in the Mission & Request menu for better, well, guidance). Talk to Morel, and he will tell the player that his fellow mushroom enthusiasts are looking into a fungus that sprouts from the back of a Parasect. He will then say that he would take it off your hands if the player manages to catch one so that he could do some research of his own.
- After that, the player now has to give Morel a Parasect. If you have a Parasect you are willing to give up, then you can talk to Morel again and give him the Parasect. If you don’t have one you are ready to give up, Parasect can be found in Nature’s Pantry in the Obsidian Fields, Golden Lowlands, Cottonsedge Prairie, Diamond Heath, Cloudpool Ridge in the Crimson Mirelands, Windbreak Stand in the Cobalt Coastlands, and, lastly, Heavenward Lookout and Wayward Wood in the Coronet Highlands. Parasect can be seen in these locations at all times of day and in every weather condition. It is worth mentioning that the Parasect that can be found in Nature’s Pantry in the Obsidian Fieldlands is an Alpha Pokemon which means that even if it is the closest Parasect you can find from Jubilife Village, it may be slightly tricky to catch it.
- After catching a Parasect, head back to Morel in his quarters in Jubilife Village. Talk to him and select the Parasect you want to give him on the prompt. It is important to mention that the player would not be able to retrieve the Parasect once you have given it to Morel, so make sure only to provide him with the Parasect you are willing to give up. After giving Morel the Parasect, he will be confused at first because he thinks all you gave him is one giant mushroom. But, after the “mushroom” turns around, he realizes that it is a Pokemon. After that, Morel will reward the player with five Candy Truffles.
Now that you have completed the ‘What a Massive Mushroom!’ request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ‘em all!
