CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 was still trying to shake off a disastrous launch when the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners came out in 2022. It rejuvenated interest in the franchise, drawing thousands of new players to Night City.

Where to Get Edgerunners Items in Cyberpunk 2077

With David and the rest of the Edgerunners being considered iconic new characters to the lore, it was only natural that the devs would put in some easter eggs and items that harken back to the anime, and players can essentially hunt for them as they cruise around the town looking for gigs.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 – Edgerunners

The Edgerunners update was added last year when Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premiered, and though the anime had a lot of easter eggs from the game (including locations in Night City and specific items), the game had also decided to bring in some character-specific loot for any Edgerunners fan to find.

Here’s the patch trailer, just in case you missed it:

David’s Jacket

In Edgerunners, David wears an Emergency Crew jacket, originally worn by his mother, Gloria Martinez, before she died in a drive-by.

You’ll have to trigger the Over the Edge side job to earn the jacket in the game. To do that, you’ll have to visit David’s old apartment. You can find it in the Arroyo District in Santo Domingo. You can get there by using the Metro: Wollesen Street.

Once you get there, head down the stairs to the left. Look for a tall construction-like building with many yellow accents and a sign in lights that says “NO ENTRY” across the building.

By the entrance is a small alley. Inside it, you’ll see the Edgerunners logo from David’s jacket graffitied on the wall. Beside it is a trashcan where you can obtain a braindance. If you play it, it will play the trailer for the Edgerunners anime.

Once you play the BD, you’ll get a new job called Over the Edge. Go to your journal menu and select Muamar “El Capitan” Reyes. In that tab, you’ll get the option to ask About David Martinez. Wait for a day in-game, and you should get a text from Falco (the driver from David’s last job). After a little chat, he’ll send you to El Capitan’s place to pick up David’s jacket.

Rebecca wields her shotgun in the final chase from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Rebecca’s Gun

If Lucy is the main waifu of the series, then Rebecca is a close second. Unfortunately, she does bite the dust in the anime after getting obliterated to pieces by Adam Smasher. However, you can obtain her special shotgun, which she uses in the anime.

Go to the Arasaka Tower in the City Center Corpo Plaza district to find the shotgun. In the garden with the giant holographic fish, you’ll see a group of three monks meditating; sift around the bushes of their area, and you should find Rebecca’s custom shotgun, colored pink and mint green.

The explanation is morbid if you’re wondering why it would be located there. The final shootout with David and Adam Smasher happens in front of Arasaka Tower. Since Rebecca got stomped into nothing by Adam, it could be implied that her shotgun merely got blasted away into the bushes and was lost. After that, she… exploded.

David’s Afterlife Drink

In the Edgerunners anime, Lucy has a line saying, “Don’t make a name for yourself as a cyberpunk by how you live… you’re remembered by how you die,” and this is pretty much evident in the game with the other mercs celebrating the other punks who managed to go out in blazes of glory—like Johnny Silverhand.

In the Afterlife bar, some drinks are named after specific punks of Night City, and the only way to get a drink named after yourself is by dying in the most spectacular fashion—which David does by the end of Edgerunners.

So if you go to the Afterlife and ask for a drink, you can order the David Martinez.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.0

While the game does feature a lot of the locations used in the anime, like the apartments of Kiwi, Rebecca, David, and Lucy, the 2.0 update, which went live before the Phantom Liberty drop, has added five new memorials to the members of the Edgerunners located in the Columbarium.

To check it out, head to North Oak, Westbrook. There, you can interact with some of the graves in the Columbarium. Here, you’ll see some memorials written for the characters who have passed in the show.

Their memorials read:

Kiwi – You taught me never to trust anyone in NC.

Pilar, Dorio, and Maine – You were the only family I ever had.

Rebecca – I regret not finishing our conversation.

Gloria Martinez – You were right. David reached the top of Arasaka Tower.

David Martinez – You didn’t take me to the moon but were there with me.

While the devs don’t explicitly state it, Lucy left these memorials, who was the only main survivor of the crew by the end of the show. If you read through them, all tributes harken to Lucy’s relationship with the characters toward the end. Fans have been sharing how heartbreaking the extra detail is for them online.

Edgerunners 2?

For now, CDPR has confirmed that there are no plans for a second season of Edgerunners, but with a rumored sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 said to be in the works and upcoming expansions, there’s always a possibility that the world of David Martinez and Lucy could be visited again in the future.

With the reception of the anime, it would make sense for CDPR to try and update fans on the status of Lucy and the remaining members of David’s crew. If many fans generate enough buzz with the update with the Columbarium, imagine the hype of an expansion that would be directly tied to Lucy.

Hopefully, she managed to do more in NC after she visited the moon.
