There are some very interesting and unique mechanics in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Most of these are expected from Assassin’s Creed titles, but most are completely unique and new.
One mechanic which was transferred from Odyssey is the romance feature. This is completely optional, but it can be interesting to see, as you will gain some insight into the game’s story and theme.
How to Romance – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Like I said, you don’t stand to gain anything from this feature, but on what level it impacts the storyline of the game we are not yet sure.
If you know what this is, it’s basically finding a love partner for yourself in Valhalla. With that particular partner you can do certain explicit activities, and get some insight into the story of the game.
If you want to learn how to romance in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla yourself, this is how to do it:
- Find an NPC you can interact with. You can choose your preferred sex, and can approach romances in any way you see fit.
- Make sure you can interact with the target. Do so, and see where the interaction takes you.
- Sometimes you’ll get rejected and sometimes you will romance with the person on your first interaction.
It can take a few interactions before each of you will express their love. We found that this usually takes two to three interactions to happen.
Relationship
After a few interactions you can choose to journey this Viking world together. I can’t stress it enough, this doesn’t mean anything, it’s just a side activity you can do if you choose to do so.
It’s good that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s developers kept in mind all sexual preferences and added them to the game. This was the case of Odyssey too.
As Narrative Director Darby McDevitt stated for an exclusive for Stevivor: “There’s a lot of romance to have that can be found all over the map,” he continued, “you can choose how to approach them any way you see fit.”
