Gather First
Before you even think about building, the very first thing you should do is begin stocking up on materials first. The good thing is that it’s very easy to it. All you need to do is swing your pickaxe at a structure or at a tree and the resources will come automatically. Since you can carry a ton of the materials with you, it’s never wrong to hoard as much as you can.
While it can be risky, it’s often best to land in areas that are abundant in structures. This will help you get as many materials as you can. Just make sure to steer clear of other players first when you swing your pickaxe as this can make enough noise to draw them towards your location.

Start Small
Once you’ve mastered the art of gathering, it’s time to move on to the actual building. You shouldn’t aim for building complex structures just yet. Instead, go for small structures.
