Most SMGs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare lean towards higher mobility and greater fire rate in exchange for lower damage and higher damage drop off. The Striker 45 however has the lowest fire rate and a lower mobility in exchange for more range and accuracy, and the highest damage stat out of all the SMGs currently in the game.
Unlike other SMGs, there are limited attachments that increase the weapon’s overall mobility, but on its own you should still be able to take gunfights at slightly longer ranges.
High Range, High Control
Attachments:
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip
- Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
- Rear Grip: FTAC 60 Series Rubber
- Barrel: 400mm Stainless Steel
As the Striker already leans towards accuracy and range, this loadout will lean further into its strengths. Every attachment save for the ammunition contributes to increasing recoil control, reducing the weapon’s recoil to almost nothing.
The extended magazine is just an added benefit of extra ammunition, but can be replaced by an optic if the sight picture of the Striker’s Iron Sights is insufficient. Be aware however, the default magazine size of the Striker is only 25 rounds.
If you want to really play to the range of the weapon, you can equip the .45 Hollow Point 12-R Mags. This ammo increases the damage of the weapon and also grants movement speed and ADS speed, but replaces the full auto function with an accurate 2 round burst. The burst is only really accurate when aiming down the sights, so perhaps taking another weapon as a secondary using Overkill would be beneficial.
Perks:
- Double Time
- High Alert
- Tracker
Since this loadout is more focused around range, these perks should allow you to keep out of harm’s way, and also give you a decent chance of disengaging with Double Time. High Alert and Tracker are both meant to keep you informed of your enemy’s position, and should help if you end up in a close quarters fight. Even with the attachments that lower your mobility, you should do fine with the extra speed from a tactical sprint, and accurate hipfire.
Equipment:
- Claymore/Prox Mine
- Snapshot Grenade
As you might be playing a bit more defensively with a more range focused loadout, the Claymore and Proximity Mine will help in giving you an advantage if your enemy pushes aggressively. The snapshot grenade will help you in finding your enemies, but its limited number of uses might be inconvenient. Replacing High Alert with Restock will negate this issue, as you’ll regain equipment over 50 seconds.
Maintaining close to medium range is ideal for this setup, as you’ll be able to put down some high accuracy and high damage fire while still having the mobility of an SMG. An AR still might outmatch you, but you have a better chance at those ranges if you set yourself up like this.
High Speed, Somewhat Low Drag
Attachments:

- Barrel: 150mm Stainless Steel
- Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
- Rear Grip: FTAC G-5 EXO
- Laser: 5mW Laser
While the Striker has a lower mobility stat that other SMGs, its high damage still makes it extremely powerful at close range. With this setup, you’ll maximize your movement speed and sprint to fire speed, while also reducing recoil with the compensator. The 45 Round Magazines reduce your movement speed by a small amount, but at the same time the benefit of an extra 20 rounds in a magazine before needing to reload is ideal in a close quarters fight.
Perks:
- Double Time
- Ghost
- Tracker
Once again, Double Time is an extremely useful perk over the other option in this slot, as you’ll be able to keep ahead of your enemies, and stay under their radar with Ghost. Tracker once again is useful for giving you information on their movements and location.
Equipment:
- Thermite
- Stun Grenade
As you’ll be on the move and up close, the Stun Grenade will help you with keeping your targets in your crosshairs while also providing some defense, as they’ll have trouble getting a bead on you. The Thermite is useful for locking off corridors or forcing the enemy to move in a way favorable to you.
With this loadout you’ll want to move quickly and aggressively, flanking your enemy where you can. You’ll find yourself better suited to fights in urban environments where you can move closer safely. Fire from the hip and don’t stop moving, and you’ll have the best chance to take the win.
Why Use The Striker 45 in Warzone?
The Striker 45 is the most accurate, and the longest range SMG of all the existing weapons in Warzone. Because of this, you get something similar to the benefits of using an AR while using an SMG. With the right modifications you could use it as a light DMR, an AR, or just play further into its strength as a close quarters weapon. The high damage value gives you an edge over other SMGs, and the low fire rate lends towards accuracy at medium ranges.
While not a bullet hose or a precision weapon, the Striker sits somewhere between an SMG and an AR, giving it a slightly more versatile play style, unlike the smaller and more mobile SMGs. Stay at the right range, hit your shots and you’ll cut through your enemies quick.
