With her quick and deadly strikes, Keqing shines as a DPS (damage-per-second) character. Keqing’s combat methods offer different play styles depending on a player’s preference.
Of course, different combat styles required different equipment. Thus, in choosing the best sword for Keqing you will have to consider the build you are going for.
Below are the weapons that are currently available in-game and work best for Keqing of any play style.
Among the available 5-star swords, including the time-limited items, the Mistsplitter Reforged and Primordial Jade Cutter are the best choices.
This sword has a maximum base ATK of 674 and offers Critical DMG bonus as a secondary stat. With this weapon you can have Critical Rate circlet artifact or substats from other artifact parts.
But since it is a time-limited weapon, you are going to have to save Primogems and wait until it gets featured on the weapon banner to get it.
Primordial Jade Cutter
This weapon may not have a base ATK as high as the Mistsplitter Reforged but given that it is a 5-star weapon, it should be higher than any 4-star sword.
Critical Rate of up to 44% is the secondary stat of this weapon, which is a decent enough for Keqing to trigger critical hits. Although the ideal number is between 70 and 90%.
Using this weapon allows you to focus on building Critical DMG and use a circlet artifact with that as its main stat.
With its stat bonuses of both ATK, the Summit Shaper is also a safe weapon to equip Keqing with. Her swift attacks can easily trigger the ATK bonus from this sword’s refinement effect. However, she needs a shielder in her team to make use of this weapon’s maximum bonus.
Blackcliff Longsword is most likely the 4-star version of the Mistsplitter Reforged with its stat bonuses. But just like the Mistsplitter Reforged, you need a decent amount of Critical Rate to make use of the Critical DMG that you have built.
Also, this sword can only be obtained from Paimon’s Shop in exchange for 24 Masterless Starglitters.
The Black Sword
Just like the Primordial Jade Cutter, The Black Sword provides a bonus of Critical Rate, which allows you to attain a decent amount and focus on Critical DMG.
However, obtaining this sword needs you to shell out real money of about $10 to unlock Gnostic Hymn. You also need to level the Battle Pass to 30 to get this weapon.
This weapon increases Keqing damage against opponents affected by electro or Pyro. This is a good boost for both an Electro and Physical build. All you have to do to trigger this effect is cast either the elemental skill or elemental burst.
Another way is to have other party members apply either Electro Pyro to the opponent. Characters like Xiangling, Fischl, and Beidou can do this.
Having ATK% as a secondary stat bonus makes Royal Longsword a safe weapon for Keqing to use. Its passive effect increases the wielder’s Critical Rate upon damaging an opponent and this effect can be stacked up to 5 times. However, the Crit Rate bonus will be removed once Keqing triggers a critical hit.
This weapon can only be obtained from Paimon’s Shop in exchange for 24 Masterless Starglitters.
Despite being a wish weapon, The Flute has been in a lot of weapon banners thus a lot of players already have it. Except of course if you are new to the game.
This sword offers ATK% for secondary stat and a passive effect that deals additional damage to opponents. It may not be the best on the list but it is not a bad weapon for Keqing.
Once you have unlocked Inazuma and completed certain world quests, you will have the chance to craft the Amenoma Kageuchi.
If you are going for looks, this sword is probably the best. But aesthetics aside, it will give Keqing a decent amount of damage and the capability to spam her elemental burst.
Every time Keqing uses her elemental skill, she will earn a Succession Seed and when she uses her elemental burst, the Succession Seed will be consumed and she will regenerate 6 energy.
The Succession Seed can be stacked up to three and the duration of each stack will be refreshed when a new stack is earned. The energy regenerated per stack increases when the sword’s refinement rank is increased.
With the Amenoma Kageuchi, Keqing playstyle will have to rely on a lot of elemental skills and burst.
Physical DMG Type Swords
If you are building or planning on building a physical type Keqing, here are the available swords that fits the playstyle.
So far this is the only 5-Star sword that offers a Physical DMG bonus for a secondary stat.
This is the first-ever weapon that you are able to craft, which is the easiest one to get.
Aside from the Physical DMG bonus as its secondary stat, this sword will also increase Keqing’s ATK and DEF every time she hits an opponent. This effect can be stacked up to 4 times and will last for 6 seconds.
All the other weapons above can also work with a Physical type Keqing but these two are the easiest way to increase the Physical DMG output of this DPS character.
3-Star Swords as Temporary Weapon
If you are new to the game and don’t have enough resources and equipment or perhaps you want to experiment before investing in anything, there are 3-star swords that are really good for Keqing.
You can use either the Harbinger of Dawn or the Fillet Blade.
These swords don’t need a lot of resources but you would not want to enhance them to a maximum level. Just use these two until you get any of the weapons listed above because they won’t do much on higher world levels and late in-game content.
With all that, have you decided which weapon you would equip your Keqing? Which among these swords do you have? Which do you plan on enhancing? And is there one that’s been on your wish list? Tell us in the comments below.
