Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the Hisui region, known as the Sinnoh region in modern times, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Pokemon species to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will request help from the player. One of these requests is Request 51, titled ‘Coming Up Roses.’ This guide will teach you how to complete the ‘Coming Up Roses’ request.
Coming Up Roses
To unlock this request, the player must first unlock Basculegion as a rideable Pokemon which is part of ‘The Lordless Island’ Mission (the tenth mission in the game). The player must quell a frenzied Hisuian Arcanine.
After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! To do that, head to the northwestern part of Ramanas Island, an island in the southwest of the Obsidian Fieldlands, and there you will find a man who is a member of the Diamond Clan and looks like he is kneeling on the ground named Hiemo. Talk to Hiemo, and he will be surprised that the player has Pokemon with them, and he will then think that fate must have his back, bringing the player there to him.
He will then ask the player to bring him the Pokemon with a scythe on each arm. After confirming that the player will do it for him, Hiemo will not tell him why he needs it and says the player should bring the Pokemon with a scythe on each arm. Then, just like that, the ‘Coming Up Roses‘ request has started!
To complete this request, the player must bring Hiemo a Scyther, the Pokemon that he is referring to that has a scythe on each arm. Now it is time to find a Scyther!
Scyther can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands (around the Grandtree Arena, which is in the southeast most of the Obsidian Fieldlands) and in the Coronet Highlands (west of Primeval Grotto and Celestica Trail). Scyther can be found in these locations at all times of day and in every weather condition.
Suppose you decide to battle a Scyther before catching it. In that case, it is worth noting that Scyther is a Bug-type and Flying-type Pokemon, which means it is weak against Fire-type, Flying-type, Electric-type, Ice-type, and, especially, Rock-type moves (super effective), resistant to Bug-type and especially Fighting-type and Grass Type moves (not very effective), and immune to Ground-type moves (no effect).
Scyther’s preferred foods are Hearty Grains, Springy Mushroom, Dazzling Honey, and Plump Beans if you decide to distract it with food.
After catching a Scyther, head back to Hiemo, still on the northwestern part of Ramanas Island in the Obsidian Fieldlands, talk to him, and select the Scyther you want to show him on the prompt. Hiemo will then check out the Scyther’s blades and say they will do a short workout of what he was planning for the Scyther.
Then, Hiemo will show the player that there are roses blooming all over Ramanas Island, and he will say that he has to gather every last one. He will mention that he has been trying to pluck all of the roses all day (that was why he was kneeling when the player first met him), but now that there is a Scyther, plucking all the roses will be much easier and smoother.
After a moment of disbelief from the player about what Hiemo is trying to do, Hiemo explains that he will give all the roses to his wife as she wants to fill their garden with all the Ramanas roses, and that is why he is gathering every last one to fill their garden.
Then, after a moment of clarity, thanks to the player, Hiemo will realize that his wife wants to plant some roses in their garden and will then say that he is thankful that the player came along before he plucked every last one of the roses on the island. Instead, Hiemo will only bring some of the roses’ seeds home for him and his wife to raise together. Finally, Hiemo will reward the player with one Seed of Mastery for your efforts!
Now that you have completed the ‘Coming Up Roses’ Request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ‘em all!
